Sisyphus was a king in Ancient Greek mythology. For his many crimes of deceit (including cheating death some two or three times) he was sentenced to spend all eternity pushing a rock up a hill. The rock would, every time he'd get it to the top, roll back down starting the whole thing from the begining.
