Yay, this is a thread dedicated to discussing the relationship between Nigel and Lizzie. Feel free to offer opinions about the couple, or ideas for fanart or fanfiction, or anything else 1/Lizzie related.
I'll start off by saying that I was reading the Season 4 episode summaries and
*~ SPOILERS ~*
there was an Operation: LUNCH where "Lizzie spends all day fixing a 'romantic' lunch for Nigie". Awww, isn't that cute? It's a common story in Japanese manga for a girl to pour her heart into making a homemade bentou for the boy that she likes. That looks like what's happening in Op. LUNCH. Awww, isn't that so cute?

Awww, Nigie/Lizzie is adorable! I didn't like it so much when I saw L.I.Z.Z.I.E but thanks to Q.U.I.E.T and D.A.T.E my love for the couple increased. It's still not my fave Nigel couple (Obiously ) but it's pretty darn cute.

Nigel/Lizzie is cute, but Lizzie sometimes annoys the crap out of me! But I don't really mind this because Lizzie adds something to the show. So yeah, this is one of my favorite couples(next to 1/86 of course ).

At first I could tolerate Nigel/Lizzie because it was just a joke. But then the show tried to make Lizzie a legitimate love interest for Nigel (even though their romance REALLY doesn't work as a serious relationship). It didn't help that my ex-girlfriend became an obsessive Nigel/Lizzie fan and would basically shove Lizzie down my throat...
Yea, no ulterior motives here! ^__^
It was C.A.K.E.D.-T.W.O. that really killed this couple for me. I guess I'm just not apt on stories which make everyone totally OOC in order to make a pairing work.

I didn't think they were going OOC at all. I mean, wouldn't anybody appreciate it if somebody risked they're life in order to gain an acceptence for an apology? Uh, right, did that make sense or did I confuse everybody?

I didn't think they were going OOC at all. I mean, wouldn't anybody appreciate it if somebody risked they're life in order to gain an acceptence for an apology? Uh, right, did that make sense or did I confuse everybody? Lizzie at the very least was most definitely OOC. She's most definitely a selfish snob, and she was consistently oblivious and self-centered throughout her previous three appearances (even though she saved the day in DATE, she did so without realizing it). Yet here she's suddenly aware of the consequences of her actions and is willing to make selfless sacrifices. And then she goes right back to being a self-centered snob (and is also shown to be a coward) in her very next appearance. CAKED-TWO has more OOC instances as well. For example, Nigel's usually all for thinking things through but in this episode he's all saying "who needs a plan?" Abby's supposed to be fanatically attached to her cap but she has nothing against just lobbing it off at the slightest indication, and... as much as I hate to say this, Nigel is usually much more forgiving of Lizzie's mistakes, I mean he let her off without even a wrist-slap over the boyfriend helmet thing, yet here she does something that's not even HALF as bad and he's off dissing her, calling her a traitor and making it clear he wants to break up. I'd call all that pretty OOC.

Yay, thanks for making this thread Tako! I must be one of the very few Nigel/Lizzie likers in the entire fandom. They just don't get enough love or attention in any place, fanfiction or fanart. Usually because the author convieniently forgets she exists and Nigel and Abby already/always liked-liked each other. Or if she does, they have a very very short break-up in one scene (often because Nigel likes Abby, again) or for some odd reason or another Lizzie goes crazy or is already crazy and wants to kill the other KND. *sigh* I personally think 1/Lizzie is capable of being hilarious, and Lizzie herself is funny. Yeah, her voice is a little annoying sometimes and she may not always take things seriously, but I can handle that; and every relationship has its bads anyway. Plus, it helps that it's canon, so it saves me having to take half of a story to get those two together without making anyone OOC. (Part of the reason why I like 3/4, too.) Sure some other girls might look okay with Nigel but I'd have to go through too much trouble to do another pairing with him succeessfully and still keep everyone in-character. That and 1/Lizzie is my favorite of them, so I ain't separating them anytime soon. ^__^

She's most definitely a selfish snob, and she was consistently oblivious and self-centered throughout her previous three appearances (even though she saved the day in DATE, she did so without realizing it). Okay, I can understand if people think that Lizzie's extremely annoying or selfish, but Lizzie is not a snob. The word "snob" implies being stuck-up and arrogant. I'm still missing Op. LEADER (darn you, Cartoon Network!), but from what I've seen, Lizzie is definitely not like that. I just hate it when people portray her like some nasty, whiny snob. CAKED-TWO has more OOC instances as well. For example, Nigel's usually all for thinking things through but in this episode he's all saying "who needs a plan?" Well, I didn't get the impression that he was acting impulsive, but there are probably a lot of other episodes where Numbuh 1 acts like how he did in CAKED-TWO. Abby's supposed to be fanatically attached to her cap but she has nothing against just lobbing it off at the slightest indication, She's not "fanatically attached" to it. She's lobbed it off before in Op. SHAVE. Well, in SHAVE, she didn't have any other weapons available, but still, in CAKED-TWO, it would've been safer for her to lightly toss her cap and retrieve it rather than to start shooting her ice gun and risk hitting the kids behind the DC hologram.

Okay, I can understand if people think that Lizzie's extremely annoying or selfish, but Lizzie is not a snob. The word "snob" implies being stuck-up and arrogant. And Lizzie's not like that how exactly? I mean it takes a godly amount of arrogance to place yourself above your signifigant other's need for sleep (and indeed Lizzie often places herself before Nigel), or to try to control their life just for your benefit. But oh well... Lizzie really IS a snob in LEADER, you'll be convinced if you ever see it.

And Lizzie's not like that how exactly? I mean it takes a godly amount of arrogance to place yourself above your signifigant other's need for sleep (and indeed Lizzie often places herself before Nigel), or to try to control their life just for your benefit. I know that they're very similar, but there's a huge difference between ARROGANCE and SELFISHNESS. SELFISHNESS Lizzie: I know that Nigel is sleeping, but I want to go on a date! Why doesn't he think about what I want? ARROGANCE Lizzie: Nigel, look, you may need your sleep and all, but I'm more important than you ever will be, because I'm beautiful and popular, and you're just a geek. See the difference? Selfishness is an acceptable quality because all kids are selfish. I know that I was, and still am. Arrogance is something that some kids are, and some kids are not. It's worse than selfish because arrogant kids will make others feel bad about themselves, while selfish kids will just give people headaches. But oh well... Lizzie really IS a snob in LEADER, you'll be convinced if you ever see it. I've read some quotes from that episode, and I'm afraid that Lizzie really will be a snob.

I'm a big supporter of 1/Lizzie. Sure, some people think that Lizzie's a brat, but then again all kids are selfish like that at one point or another. It's just another developmental stage. *shrug* And some people think that Nigel tries to push her away sometimes, but that's just Nigel being Nigel. He does that (distancing himself) - it's part of his nature. Although they usually act like complete foils for one another, 1/Lizzie works really well. They have some similar traits (ie. that stubborn streak) and some different ones (the arrogance/selfishness issue). They're cute together. I swear. ;D (Man, we need a 1/Lizzie 2/5 fic to be written. Hooray for the underdogs!) SELFISHNESS Lizzie: I know that Nigel is sleeping, but I want to go on a date! Why doesn't he think about what I want? ARROGANCE Lizzie: Nigel, look, you may need your sleep and all, but I'm more important than you ever will be, because I'm beautiful and popular, and you're just a geek. Perfectly said.
