I don't know why the mispelling of "discussion" makes me laugh. Probably because it's spoofing the eckselent spelin of most 3/4 fanz. XD
As y'all know, I'm a 3/4 supporter myself. I love the couple! But the 3/4 fandom annoys the bejeezus out of me. I swear, if I hear another "OMFGZ lYk 3/4 iZ SoOoOoO kYoOt LyK OMFGZ!!!111oneone!!" things might get a little...ugly.
But the main thing that ticks me off is that most of the fandom is so...closed-minded. It just sickens me that people will flame supporters of alternate non-3/4 couples just because "3/4 iZ beDr. LOLZ." I even got an e-mail from someone saying I shouldn't support 1/4 because they're both guys, and it screws up 3/4.
And as fanfiction goes, there are a few good 3/4 fics out there (emphasis on "few"). I'm still thinking about getting back into fanfiction writing because of stupid 12-year-olds disgracing 3/4 with their "fanfics."

XD Ah, now I understand what Radiohead meant. lol, funny, I didn't even think of that!  EDIT: Okay, I think I'll state my fic idea anyways. All right, lessee... Numbuh Four is tired of all the insults ("The Stupid One"), belittlement and teases. Even Numbuh Three teased him, which he didn't expect. So what does he do to gain some confidence and respect? Become a superhero, of course! Donning a boxing kangeroo-ish costume, he becomes a superhero to all kids everywhere to restore his confidence and have the satisfaction of, for once, impressing his friends and particularly Numbuh Three. Not surprisingly, problems arise: He doesn't want the others to know (strange since how would he gain respect from them? guess he really is afraid they'd laugh at his costume), Kuki seemingly admires and won't STHU about the superhero (Wally becomes jealous yet confident at the same time with that... weird, huh?), and his teammates slowly become suspicious of him. And what happens when the time comes when both Numbuh Four AND the superkid are needed? Um, yeah, so it's not totally complete yet but bear with me m'kay. |

You know, I find it kinda ironic that a few people in this thread said they got annoyed with 3/4 after it became canon, yet elsewhere I see people who like 1/Lizzie just because it *is* canon Not attempting to flame anybody, it's just that I found this ironic. That actually sounds like a good fic idea, NumbuhInfinity. Write it. And I second what Scone said about recent seasons having been influenced by fans. I think I'll write something about that for my Thoughts of Whenever section. EDIT: Speaking of which, I never did announce that--anyway, my page has a new section, called Thoughts of Whenever. Basically, I was too lazy to sign up for a livejournal, so I made this instead. n_n; The only 3/4 thing that really bothered me was in S.L.U.M.B.E.R, it would've been better if they asked her who she liked instead of if she liked a specific person. That's usually how it goes anyway from my experience. and it would've still had the same effect on Numbah 4 more or less.
Anywuzzle. My opinion on this couple heasn't been changed, I think they're cute n_n and I don't really take into consideration how "compatible" they are, cause they're just kids with a crush. There was this kid years back that was a total buttlouse but I still somehow developed a crush on him. Also, I'm not a big fic person unless I've heard good things about something so the little fangirls haven't affected me n_n;

See, I would like 3/4, but there are two things that make it very offputting for me. 1) The fandom. Yes, I've said this before and I'll say it again: the rabid fangirls and badfic are killing this couple. When I go to ff.net, most of what I see is 3/4 badfic (with the occasional 1/5 badfic) with reviews like "THIS SI SOOO CUTE!!1 OMGLOL !!1!11!one!" I can't stand this - even if it's your favorite couple, you shouldn't support bad fanfiction.  Also, every other KND site out there is devoted to 3/4. Some of the sites themselves are good, but after seeing so many, I just get sick of it. 2) The couple itself. Oh m'god, I said it. Now don't get me wrong - I love fluffy couples but...no. The couple's too obvious, too stereotypical - the tough guy and the innocent girl. Even though it's really sweet I feel like this couple type lacks originality. No matter where you look, there will always be a couple just like it. "Their personalities conflict so much - they're a great couple!" But are the conflicting personalities interesting? Not in my opinion. Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate 3/4 - in fact, it's a couple I support. But I don't like it. (I hope that makes sense.) Sadly, this couple is really falling from my favor. It's too two-dimensional to keep my interest. I can see why other people are obsessed with it (they are cute together), but I can see other couples involving 3 and 4 that are far more interesting. Now if you are a 3/4 fan, please don't flame me. I don't think I deserve it.  If you'd like to discuss this, I'd love to. Just don't get me started on 1/5.  Edit: *kicks herself* Wow, after rereading that, I kinda sound like a flamer.  *waits for someone to flame the 2/5 thread* At least that would get a conversation started there. I agree with practically everything on this topic. xD I used to be so 3/4-ish, but now I'm loving couples like 2/5 more and more.
Anyways, I've never fell out of support for that couple, but I guess I don't care for it. It's cute, but I think it would be cuter if it seemed more like a small crush instead of something in between.

I agree. I think the fans of 3/4 have really made a big deal over the romance possibility. Much as it seems obvious in the show, they tend to take things (woohoo five-word alliteration) a bit far, like Wally's "confession" in CATS -- if you didn't know that the 3/4-ness existed to start with, the confession thing wouldn't even have occurred to many.
EDIT: James agreed with me on this point. Woohoo, IronG's a Linkin Park fan!

LOL. Not that I'm saying they shouldn't post their fanfic on the internet; they should reserve a special board or community for deranged 3/4 fangirls. |
