I know this topic is kind of old, but I don't think it's that old, and so I didn't see any use in making a new thread.

Since I've been rereading Robin Jarvis's novels, I've made cast listings for three of those books. I know I tend to repeat the same characters, but I've been a reader of these books for nearly five years and if they fit, they fit.
The Dark Portal (The Deptford Mice):
Audrey Brown - Abigail Lincoln
Arthur Brown - Nigel Uno (Arthur and Audrey are brother and sister in the books, but here of course they wouldn't be)
William 'Twit' Scuttle - Hoagie Gilligan
Piccadilly - Wally Beetles (Audrey and Piccadilly fall in love in the books, and for that reason I was hesitant to make Wally Piccadilly, but the personality and even the way they talk just fit so well)

Morgan - Delightful Children from Down the Lane
Madame Akkikuyu - Henrietta von Marzipan

Frank Jeffries - Trevor (I realize Hoagie and Trevor have never met in the TV show, but Frank is the shy, stuttering friend of Angelo's)
Kathleen Hewett - Henrietta von Marzipan (Kathleen befriends the other characters but is secretly a German spy)

Demeter is WAY too timid for Rachel to play. Rachel'd be closer to Munkustrap, since she's the one ultimately in charge and very by the book (RumpleScat scene), or even Duteronomy. Fanny isn't forward enough to be Bombalurina, but could be a good Etcetera, who is boy crazy, or Victoria, who's at that point between kitten and queen.
Mungojerri and Rumpleteazer would be good for either Chad and Cree, or Abby and Heinrich. Probably Abby and Heinrich, since they used to be candy hunters together. It just seems to work, though Heiny would have a LOT of trouble with the gymnastics.
Cassandra's too mysterious and lacks enough obvious characteristics for Abby, but could be good for Cree.
Kuki could be good for one of Rum Tum Tugger's nameless fans, or perhaps for Jemima, the youngest, and the first to truly hear and understand Grizabella's plea for acceptance.
Grizabella could be the Delightul Children, breaking away from Father's control and wanting to be accepted back into the childhood they had lost.
Wally might make a good Mr. Mistoffelees, who has a great deal of talent and power, but is stuck in the chorus and a few small center-stage points until almost the end, where he saves the day.

Well I haven't seen the musical in a long time, so maybe your right. But you gotta admit there's some part of the Rum Tum Tugger that's kinda like Wally ("The Rum Tum Tugger doesn't care for a cuddle") but in the player sense, your right, he's a Hoagie.
