Anyway I was watching HUGS with this 20 something friend who just watched "King Kong" once. She said that huge Rainbow Monkey reminded her of King Kong.

Oh, yes! I forgot about that parody in HUGS. After watching King Kong (2005) for the first time, I went straight to my computer to watch the episode. XD
