Yea but... if they were young adults, it wouldn't be Kids Next Door.
Giant Robots aren't really a "new element" for the show, now that I think about it, though it is one element I would NOT like to see get played up.

What about Teens Next Door? I could almost imagine the theme song. When there's trouble you know who to call... TEENS NEXT DOOR! From their treehouse they can see it all! TEENS NEXT DOOR!....Hmmm... that almost, ALMOST works.

Well, I guess I might as well let my imagination go wild on this post. Here's my version of a Kids Next Door Anime.
Kids Next Door DVD 1: The Children's War
Synopsis: The world has always been a peaceful place for Nigel Uno and his girlfriend Lizzie. Up until a syndicate organization known as 'Delightful' appears. Claiming to have the "divine gift", these five children and their boss begin raising havoc all other Nigel and Lizzie's home town. The two twelve year olds have no choice but to surrender after seeing the power the 'Delightful' organization possesses. Everything seemed to be tumbling down, until four teenagers appear claiming to be looking for the "divine gift". Fifteen year old Abigail, who's sneakier than a snake. Thirteen year old Kuki and her boyfriend of the same age, Wallabee, who both master in mirror combat. And fourteen year old Hoagie, the genius of the group with the inventions to prove it. Now it's all out war against the 'Delightful' organization! Will the 'Delightfuls' triumph over the four teenagers, or will the four defeat the 'Delightfuls' and take the "divine gift" from them. And can these four strangers even be trusted in the first place?
DVD CONTENTS: - Episodes 1-4 - Japanese 2.0 Stereo Audio, with English Subtitles - English 2.0 Stereo Audio - English 5.1 Surround Sound - Japanese, English, and Spanish Subtitles
DVD EXTRAS: - Clean Opening and Closing - Music Video "Heart's Fury" by Neon Kitsune - Music Video "Stay" by Sakura Matsuya - Interview with creator Tom Warburton - Commentary by Ben Disken(Nigel/Hoagie/'Delightful'), Cree Summer(Abigail/Cree/'Delightful'), Grey Delisle(Lizzie), and Tom Warburton(Creator/Various Voices)
Well, that's what I got. If anyone wants to continue it, feel free. I think it would make a pretty cool 26 episode series.

WOW!!! that sounds great! omg i am so surprised! now i want to see it! where did u get those two songs? sorry! just curious! i just wanted to listen to them Lol. I'm glad you guys like it! The two songs and the bands, well... I just made them up. I couldn't think of any JPop bands to sing an opening and closing so I just made some up. If you want, I can post lyrics to them next time I post. But until then... Kids Next Door DVD 2: P.A.N.D.O.R.A. Synopsis: The "divine gift", now known as P.A.N.D.O.R.A., has become a hot topic for the now terrified townsfolk of Nigel and Lizzie's hometown. Everyone keeps making up rumors about it. At the same time, 'Delightful' has begun to notice how much of a threat the Operatives of P.A.N.D.O.R.A. have become and have started sending their most dangerous soldiers after them, including the elusive Cree. What connection does this female ninja have with Abigail? And who is the boy known as Chad, claiming to be from the now extinct and taboo Kids Next Door agency? And what does he want with Nigel? The battle for P.A.N.D.O.R.A. has only just begun in this new chapter of Kids Next Door! DVD CONTENTS: - Episodes 5-8 - Japanese 2.0 Stereo Audio, with English Subtitles - English 2.0 Stereo Audio - English 5.1 Surround Sound - Japanese, English, and Spanish Subtitles DVD EXTRAS: - Concept Art / Character Art - English VA Outtakes - A discussion with Tom Warburton about P.A.N.D.O.R.A. (Part One) - Commentary by Ben Disken(Nigel/Hoagie/'Delightful'), Grey Delisle(Lizzie), and Maurice LaMarche(Father) Yay! Volume two now! I think if I get enough good things I'll go all the way to volume six or seven! Tell me what you guys think!

That's a great idea, good job. I'm thinking that anime would be worked by Toei, Gainax or Geneon (Formerly known as Pioneer).

That's a great idea, good job. I'm thinking that anime would be worked by Toei, Gainax or Geneon (Formerly known as Pioneer). ~Nismo Geneon/Pioneer is a DISTRIBUTOR. They don't actually MAKE anime. Wait wait wait! I thought the divine gift was something the Delightful Organization had? Why is the divine gift (now PANDORA) an organization, and why do the Delightful's see it as a threat? Unless, of course, the line about " At the same time, 'Delightful' has begun to notice how much of a threat the Operatives of P.A.N.D.O.R.A. have become" was a typo and you meant to type "Operatives of KND" instead of "Operatives of PANDORA." EDIT: You know I like an idea when I notice it enough to nitpick it. ^_^

That's fine if you have to nitpick. I don't mind explaining. I'm glad your asking questions in fact.
Nigel & Lizzie: Hero and Heroine
'Delightful': Organization condensed up of the five DCFDTL and Father.
Kids Next Door: Secret organization of children that was wiped away from the planet 300 years ago, and is now considered a taboo to talk about.
Operatives of P.A.N.D.O.R.A.: These are the four strangers (Numbuh's 2-5) seeking the "Divine Gift".
"Divine Gift": In the first four episodes, it is simply known as the "divine gift". After episode five it is known by its true name, P.A.N.D.O.R.A.
You see, the Numbuh's 2-5 are called the Operatives of P.A.N.D.O.R.A. because they are looking for P.A.N.D.O.R.A., they are not in the KND in this series. Does that help with anything?
