James: The fact that you've had to sink to personal insults is just a sign of running out of ideas. And targeting MHG, who in a very short time has proven her value as a mod, is just plain stupid. Like anyone will actually believe what you're saying? You killed any credibility you had left--and trust me, there was never much-- just from that. And calling yourself legendary? Legendary what, may I ask? I can fill in the blank myself, but I'm sure our esteemed mods would delete the terms, even on this less-regulated board.

You know, I wasn't even gonna enter this topic at first, because I figured it would be another Madame-0xFF-Scone-Regan "We're so cool look at us!" wank fest. But... Okay. Here's a bone. *I* sunk to personal insults? Sooks, I tried to avoid flaming Madame for three pages--and told her so--but she kept badgering me on, with comments like "bring it on!" And even then, my "personal insults" were nothing next to the severe defamation of character she was giving me. I mean come on, her and 0xFF spent like two pages doing nothing but making childish insults at me (whereas I made precisely *one post* of childish insults towards them, after having kept my cool for three pages before that), and you're talking about how bad *I* was. Sheesh. |

Madame, your knee-jerk reactionary postings that have no sense and no logic and are only supported by the amount of mindless cliquesters who are willing to jump up and say "me too!" may be good for comedy, but they're not much of an arguement. I mean, no one is honestly going to believe "OMG YOU SHOULDN'T BE SAYING STUFF LIKE THAT how can you think stuff like that its THOUGHTCRIME OMG Jimmyland gives me a headache!" is "an attempt to make sense out of nonsense." It's more like responding to sense with nonsense. And no one's gonna believe that sweet ol' Madame was just minding her own business when bad ol' Jimmy rained on her parade, when they can see the original topic, and when they know that you posted this to provoke me (good thing I got to it before you could delete it), and now that they see you started an entire forum section just to attack me. When someone refers to himself in the third person and includes epithets like 'legendary'...well I can't stay silent. The compulsion to snipe is just too much for my willpower. I won't even mention the Bugs Bunny bit. Or the jellyfish bit.
In short your post was a perfect storm of stupidity. Idiocy so potent that it borders on the supernatural. It's not that you flung insults -- flinging insults is good clean fun -- it's that the way you did so provided a harrowing glimpse into the inner workings of your psyche. It is a sight of terrible beauty: on one side one is convulsed with laughter (You referred to yourself as THE LEGENDARY JAMES!) and on the other one is gripped by the sobering realization that your were serious.
It's nice to see that I have finally warranted inclusion into the Grand Anti-James Conspiracy. When do I get the ominous hooded robe?

Nah, sorry. Geeks who read a ton of Science-Fiction novels and maybe a speculative article in a fanzine and think that makes them a scientist, don't get robes.
I can give you this nice crystal wand though. That good?

Also, since when is 0xFF currently a scientist? He wants to be one and science means a lot to him. Not to mention that he's aiming for a Master's, which is more that you can say. See, this is your problem. You never respond directly to arguments...you post these loopy trains of thought which are designed to confuse people. Seriously, I get a headache when I read them. But anyway. As you yourself said, most of the forum is so obsessed with romance or their own little cliques, that they didn't even notice what was going on in the other thread. None of them care what's going on between you, me, and 0xFF. Frankly, I don't care if none of them come to the defense of the "sweet old Madame". And even more so, none of them are going to care about this imaginary legend that you think you are. EDIT: I'm well aware that 0xFF can defend himself against your foam arrows  , but he's getting his MASTER'S in, yes, SCIENCE. Don't throw stones at someone who's actually doing something with his life and follwing his ambitions. Geesh. |

Well, in all fairness, the M.Sc. is in CS/EE -- not sure if you can call a person with it (let alone aspiring to it) a scientist. I'm sort of a crossbreed between a mathematician and an engineer by training. I only have, like, two physics courses (well three if you count semiconductor physics) and nothing in chemistry or biology. I am a fan of science, though. Big fan. @re: The Suki
