Years had passed since the normal crew were a part of the Kids Next Door. But years had passed and soon the beloved crew were grown up: the dreaded thing they all dreaded. Though, oddly, they weren't as dreaded as they thought. The days of toys turned to fashion, and the cheap drinks of root beer changed to different tastes. But, nothing really changed with their personalites. Except the one named Jake grew more shy and the one by the name of Alexandru grew more sassy. And his beloved sister became even more of a pain.
We meet our young hero Jake sitting in the quad of the community college awaiting his best friend and boyfriend before heading to their next class together. Why on earth the boy went to a normal college baffled him, but he was just thankful to not be alone. Jake sat on the bench outside picking at his sandwich with his black chipped nails, red haired roots peeking from black secured under a slouched beanie. He nibbled on the bologna sandwich, knowing his beloved wasn't fond of meat in general.
He didn't even notice the shadow over him.

"Boo!" the pink haired boy shouted, marveling at how he had been able to walk down the hallway in five inch platforms and still be quiet enough that Jake didn't turn around and notice him before he could shout. "Waiting for someone?" he grinned, leaning against the wall.

"Yeah, my boy-"Jake looked up at Alexandru."Oh, it's you," he replied, quickly shoving the rest of the sandwich in the pocket."Hi babe," he greeted."What are you doing?" He stood up, bologna sandwich hanging from his pocket.

Pink eyes pointed at the sandwich, Alex scrunched his nose and pulled it out, gasping when he realized that there was dressing on the bread, "You're going to get it all over your jacket, you- you!" Tossing it into the trash without asking first, he wiped his hands on the nearby wall, hoping a janitor didn't see. "Well, I was just on my way to skip class," he smirked, looking down at his clear with glitter painted nails, "I've got important things to do. Math can wait."

Jake frowned."That was my lunch," he whined."And it was bologna. Why are you skipping class?" He asked, tugging his beanie further over his painted black locks."You need to go to class otherwise you won't pass. And seriously, my moms paying for yours and mine school. And my sisters. If she ever gets there." Jake was referring to of course, his little pain in the ass sister Mistina, more commonly known as Misty. She and Jakes other sister were still in high school, while the others were in college.
Jake reached out to grab Alexandrus hand, tugging him in the direction of math class.

Purposefully dragging his feet all along the way, Alex had half a mind to make even more of a scene. "Jake! Will you let go? I have plans that don't include multiplication tables... well, actually, now that I think about it: I'd be making cash so that's math class right there! I'm going to be late!" he pouted, glaring at anyone who looked in their direction.

Jake looked at Alex and sighed."What are you going to do?" He asked him."Can you tell me babe?" He was going to end up skipping class with Alex again."So, whats the deal?" He asked him.

"Well..." glad to have stopped walking, he pulled his freshly manicured hand out of his boyfriend's grasp. "I signed up to be looked at by a couple of Queens over at the local drag show place... Look, Jake, I need some extra cash and you know it. This is my chance to do so easy."

Jake stared at his boyfriend."You, a Queen? Well, do you have a look?" Jake himself was hesitant about that sort of stuff. He was pretty plain for a gay boy. Unlike his boyfriend, he had no flamboyant personality or look. In fact, it often drove Alex crazy with his plainness."So, I guess I'll come along." He sighed, tugging his beanie further so his boyfriend couldn't see his roots.

The two had been together and friends in general for so long by now that Jake's attempts at hiding the roots that were no doubt going down were useless. "You can stop tugging on your hat, everyone knows you're a ginger. Not that that's a bad thing and nobody can see it under your hat but- Just let me go! I'll be fine. I don't need you to be there to protect me. If anyone tries to touch me, I'll stomp on their you know what with my heels." Crossing his arms, he moved out of the middle of the hallway and sunk down to sit on the floor against the wall, knees up to his chest. "I was just planning on looking like my regular self."

"Queens are girls," he told Alex. "And I don't want them knowing i'm a ginger," he whispered. He was that ashamed of his red hair."And I want to go," he added. He really did. Being alone in class wasnt his forte. Plus, Alex drove the both of them. Not to mention, Jakes hair shagged to much in his face for him to drive right now, and he was stubborn about cutting his hair: something his boyfriend was dying to do. He pressed his back against the wall and rested his head against Alex's. It was his silent comfort about letting him know he was there for him.

"Yeah, well... yeah. You're right. I'll be a king." Long mascara coated lashes poking his cheeks, he sighed, subconsciously poking his nails into his shirt. "I want to be a queen, Jake. Not just any queen- the motherf*cking princess."

"And you are," Jake told him."Okay,I'm coming too," he told Alex."Mostly because you're my ride." He tugged on the beanie so the red roots were hidden and the black pieces stuck into his face, nearly shielding it."You'll be the princess," he promised. "Help me up?" He asked Alex for help, unable to see where he was going.

Holding out a hand for Jake, he winced, "Don't beak my nails, I just got this manicure." Trying out for the drag shows was a long time dream of the pastel pink haired boy, but one that he never actually voiced until that sudden confession just a minute ago. It came out a lot less casual than he had hoped. He wondered what his boyfriend was thinking. "You think this is a good idea, right?"

"As good as idea about me cutting my hair." In Jakes language, that meant no. To Alex, it was probably a yes. The messages would easily get mixed up.Jake also wasn't as willing to try something new like Alex was. But, if this is what he wanted, Jake would be supportive the best he can. Heoften wondered why someone as flamboyant as Alex stayed with dull him, but he didn't voice the opinion out loud."Maybe Mist will wanna watch. We could pick her up from high school."
He spoke of course, of his little sister. The same sister that Alex was repulsed by, who seemed to be what Alex described as a walking fashion disaster.
