The title kinda says it, but more specifically, ever since the forum became password protected, there had been newbies wanting to join the forum. They needed to be PM'ed the password so that they can start posting and join the community. We can PM the newbies, but what can guarantee that the newcomer is a person with a genuine interest in KND, and not some loser on the internet trying to flood our forums with spams?
Any ideas? A quiz, maybe?

At LEAST 3 sentences of why you want to join?

If they post in "Newbies" and seem to have a genuine interest in KND, they can get the password.
If they just sign up and never post, well, tough luck. We don't know who they are or what their intentions are.

That's probably best. However, when I joined, I didn't even bother to search any threads under the 'Other' section, I got too caught up in KND 'Main' section. Perhaps some member may not notice it before they try to start posting. Am I wrong? That may just be me.

I think usually they introduce them self first, then we'll give them a the password. If they join, and immiediatly ak for the pw, then don't give it to them.

Well, we were just discussing an issue that is very similar to this one in the 'Enough is Enough!' thread in KND Other.
Allie, MHG, 18a, Stephanie, Myself, and probably a few other people in this forum have been going on a reporting crusade on dA. We've been reporting KND toon porn pictures and toon porn pictures from other cartoons aswell. That BB Kenobi guy and his other pervy friends have been posting comments like crazy on dA, again, complaing about what 'Nazis' the dA admins are and how we watchers need to screw off.
MHG brought up a good point within the thread. Sadly, our member list has shot up with the intention of something other than the interest of KND. It is very possible that BB Kenobi and his little perverted bastard buddies are trolling this forum, because they are already trolling MHG's profile on dA. Just a warning to everyone, if you get a pm from someone you think is suspicious, DO NOT give them the password.

The overflow of complaints about a picture on a single day might tell them hey, we really need to take this off. Nice to know. I've been wondering about that. |

I've gotten a Message from every single new person! Asking for the password.
Heres a Thought Cosmie and MHG. Do you guys have the power to make automated messages? Like say a newbie joins can they get an automated message saying "Welcome to the forum due to the current problem with trolls the forum is Password protected please post in the newbies section first to get the password"
Would that work?

I say wait until they post a message in Newbies of their own accord. People who email like that and don't bother to introduce themselves or post anything are the ones we want to avoid giving it to.
We have Fluffles trying to get his way back in (I think; I don't know if he's still making fake accounts or if he gave up. He's also known for disappearing for months, then attacking when we least expect it), and now we have jerks from the "softcore toon" group on dA trying to get access. It stinks that innocent newbies get caught in this mess, but until we get the garbage off the forum, this system will stay in place for a while.
