Just as the title says, post any comments you have on the ever spreading trend of “reality TV.” Whether you hate them or love them, just express your opinions. You can even list your favourite or least favourite reality shows here too. My opinion: while I don’t necessarily doubt how “real reality TV is, I do know that most shows do edit their footage so that a person’s personality is exaggerated. I also think that there’s something about reality TV that makes it so easy to make fun of them and parody them. Now, here’s my list of reality show favourites.
Reality shows I like:
Hell’s Kitchen : Yes, there are more bleeped words than unbleeped words in this show and sometimes, it’s more about humiliating someone than actual cooking, but I can’t seem to stop watching it.
Total Drama Island: Okay, so it’s not really a reality show since it’s a cartoon, but it is a parody of reality TV and has all the classic reality clichés so I’m going to count it. Besides, I love this show! If you haven’t heard of it, don’t be surprised, it’s only on Teletoon in Canada!
Shows I Don’t Like (Because Hate Is Such A Strong Word)
The Bachelor: Sorry to those who like this show, but it didn’t really click with me. I tried giving it a few shots, but it’s not my cup of tea. While the extreme romantic in me does go aww, sometimes, is this really the best way to find your true love?

*sigh*
Reality TV is all that seems to be on in the summer. None of my primetime shows.
I don't watch any of them regularly. In fact, the TV hardly goes on in the evenings for me anymore, unless I'm watching a rerun of Friends or something.

Its okay. I got hooked on the Real World Denver last year, so that's one of my favorite reality shows. I also watch MADE and some of the stuff of TLC(Oo?) but really thats about it.

I kinda don´t like reality-shows...too many pointless "stars" come from that kind of junk. Also, some ppl take it too seriously, once a young woman in estonia even commited a suicide due to the problems the reality-show gave to her. So yeah...pointless reality shows are sucky. But some of them are nice...like "America´s next top model", I absolutely luv this one

There's nothing "real" about reality TV. The only one I was even tempted to watch is the newish pirate king or whatever one.
I prefer stuff like Forensic Files or Mythbusters. At least they're accomplishing something rather than being stupid for the sake of being on TV and money.
... well, except for Mythbusters.

I've kinda been meaning to watch Big Brother 8, but I just can't. My brain won't allow that much stupid in at one time.
The last reality TV show I really got into was like, the 2nd season of Survivor.

Well, some are good while some are bad. Me, I choose Fear Factor over The Apprentice. They are still my favorites but I'll go for the American version of Fear Factor always.

For the most part, I hate reality TV. Those I can watch are:
-The Apprentice: this one actually takes some brains and skills.
-My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss: I liked this idea of an Apprentice spoof. People compete in panhandling and creating children's mascots for cyanide companies to win...nothing.
-Hogan Knows Best: funny with Hulk trying to run his family, scaring away Brooke's boyfriends, and the occasional appearance by fellow wrestlers (Brian Knobbs trying to babysit was hilarious).
-Drawn Together: it's a parody, and not a real show, but still damn funny.

Of course, The Apprentice is not only to show brains and skills, I even learn something from them, especially the business tips.

the ideas, storyboards and whatever else they have for reality tv shows would make excellent firestarters no seriously, there is TOO many nowadays, and they seem to get more pathetic each time. one that I like (and its the only one) is Miami Ink. Thats it

I concur. Miami Ink is actually pretty cool. Less for the drama of the tattoo artists, and more for the tatoos themselves.

I'm really not into reality TV. Never watched Survivor or its buhmillion imitators. I tried to watch stuff like Trading Spaces and Queer Eye, but I got bored with them quickly. I've never even seen ONE episode of the more popular shows, like Top Model or Project Runway...
But I put on the premiere of The Two Coreys the other night, and I'm hooked. It's such a wacked show.
That doesn't mean I'm now going to turn into a reality show junkie. ;D

I just remembered a reality show I actually really liked. I've seen every episode of The Joe Shmoe Show. That was a good reality show. And season 2 was awesome. Where the girl found out she was being tricked? Oh yeah, so cool.
