Does anybody think the Delightful Children are, well, spent as far as being good villains? Now that Operation: Z.E.R.O. has aired, we know that the DC are essentially not real, and are just KND operatives hypnotized into performing Father's bidding. Part of the fun of a Delightful Children episode is the awe they inspire with their fiendishness. How are we supposed to revel in their villainy when we know they aren't really evil, but sad victims?
It seems like the era of the Delightful Children is over; the creators of the show can't really do the same types of episodes with them anyone and expect them to have the same effect. It's too late to go back, as far as I'm concerned.
What do you think? What are they going to do with these guys now?

I am not sure what they are going to do with them. My whole perspective on KND has been vastly altered since I've seen op.ZERO. Since the show only has like 5 episodes left I don't see it as an issue.

According to Father, just like Risan said, they are obeyed to do Father's biddings, especially when he zaps them over a kajillion times of voltage from the Delightfulization chamber, which overloads their brains and make them the Delightful Children permanently.

Personally I really thought Operation: GROW-UP was when the DCFDTL jumped the shark as villains. Before that they were interesting, creepy, believable villains. Afterwards they became more like pathetic brats.
The way I interpreted that wasn't so much that DC/Sector Z was "hypnotized"--they clearly DO NOT obey Father's every whim and, more recently, don't even show him that much respect--heck they blatantly disregard his orders in ZERO: Father wants to help Monty, but the DC refuse to do it. Heck they even shove father aside.
And on the question of how we're supposed to revel in their villainy now that ZERO has happened... my favorite answer is to just pretend ZERO didn't happen. There's just too much wrong with ZERO as it is for me to really see it as anything more than a feature-length "what-if" story.

Oh yeah, besides in Operation ZERO who the DC refuses to help Father in some occasions, Operation IT too when they bring out the code module to track down the real Father, after all, like Rachel said, they also hate broccoli too.

I knew the Delightful Children were brainwashed KND operatives a year in advance, and it didn't bother me then. I haven't seen any post-ZERO episodes except for TREATY, but I think they're still good villians.
What did bother me was, in GROW-UP, the Delightful Children have to obey adults even if they don't want to, but, like James said, they disobeyed Father, and adult, and pushed him over. I think it's either an oversight on the part of the writers, or a sign that their Delightfulisation is getting weaker. But probably the first one.

I think the Delightfuls best trait is their creepyness, the fact the walk and talk in unison. I'm also seeing sector Z and the DC as seperate people. Like the delightfulization killed them and created the DC

I knew the Delightful Children were brainwashed KND operatives a year in advance How'd you know? =) And its an interesting question. But I've lost interest in DC after Zero, before that they were creepy. But its probably because I love the mystery on the charactors!

Someone on the forum, Emi, had a friend whose uncle or something worked for Curious Picture. She said to PM her if anyone wanted spoilers. I wanted spoilers. So I PMed her.

In PARTY, in spite of wanting to be teenagers, the DC didn't seem to act like villians.......

My answer is this: We had to learn about the Delightful Children's story at some point. I mean, as JamesEightBitStar mentioned, before Operation: GROW-UP, they were these five creepy kids that can be considered a threat. After being introduced to their "father," things took a turn. We find out there's more to the Delightful Children than meets the eye. The KND never seemed to consider it, for some reason; they just saw them as five bratty kids with easily-kickable butts. But as the show progressed, we grow more curious about them. That's what I noticed, anyway.
I'll be totally honest. I think the creators picked one of the perfect times to reveal Father's secret. The show hasn't totally ended, but close enough to be further curious about the Delightful Children's past. (For instance: the connection between them, Abby, and Nigel's baldness). That's pretty much why I'm looking forward to INTERVIEWS.. to learn about their past, and how it has affected everybody in the present and near future.
