LICORICE: actually, the first #5 episode i really liked. Stickybeard's song was great, and the Pirates of the Caribbean references were awesome as well. 9/10
HOME: i was expecting more. i didn't like this one. there were only two good parts: the "Lalala i'm not listening", and the credits, with the bingo and all. but #5 was good on this episode. 5,5/10

*really long analysis of LICORICE ahead*
In this episode, Heinrich is all alone, no weapons, no means of escape, surrounded by dozens of undead pirates who are REALLY pissed at him.
Enter Abby. She knows the playing field. She has some backup in Stickybeard's crew, and the ship to leave on. She also knows John's weak points. First, the sun. Stall him long enough, and John and his crew will be helpless, and they can leave with Heinrich. Second, his pride. Challenge him, and he'll accept. All Abby had to do was keep the game going long enough for the sun to rise. The French guys were probably a plan B in case the seed started growing before the sun could rise. Sticky and his crew probably would have fought if they stall didn't last long enough. All they'd have to do is hold the licorice crew back long enough, once again, for the sun. The one advantage John had is Heinrich, already planted and fed, only needing moonlight to finish the job. Nature took Abby's side and kept the moon covered until close to dawn.
So really, her rescue was more a mixture of knowing her enemy, planning ahead, and luck.

In this episode, I like LICORICE more than HOME.
Arrr, LICORICE, a parody episode of "Pirates of the Caribbean : The Curse of the Black Pearl". Black John is a parody of Captain Barbossa, brings me old memories between Old John and Stickybeard, a possible representation of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Well, the comparison can only be taken so far. Jack was Barbossa's captain, not his cabin boy. But Sticky was definitly the eps JAck Sparrow equivalent.
And Abby was the Will.
And Heiny was the Elizabeth. XD
Then CARAMEL happened. -_-

Well, I know Jack was Barbossa's captain when he was a first mate, I read the profile in Wikipedia. But in LICORICE, the character resemblance is reversed. Man, Mr. W really know how to do a lot of parodies as much as Weird Al. Off topic a little, especially I like his RECRUIT, a "The Matrix" movie parody as well.

Parodies only work when you've seen the paodied material enough to know it backwards.
Just shows how versatile Mr. W's movie tastes are. XD
I know a few references in Op. CLUES, but that's another thread.

There was always something about Black John Licorice that set him apart from the others.

L.I.C.O.R.I.C.E. : really enjoyed this one. too bad i didnt actually get the references though... never watched pirates of the carribbean, but now i fell i should. always enjoy the heinrich episodes, shame he turned out to be a girl though, that killed the ship.
H.O.M.E. : good episode i guess. I do like that its a 3 and 5 episode, and that the nurse came back, but besides that, there really isnt much to talk about.
