Well, if they did recomission them, then the Delightful Children wouldn't exist... And that's what both the writers and fans wanted at the time.

Weeeeeeeeell, since this thread has been relevant again, I think shall honor it's unholy revival by giving a play by play of my reactions as I first watched the movie.
Ahem...
Opening: DEPRESSION. This is totally during the Great Depression, isn't? I KNOW it is. Look at those factories, and gloomy atmosphere. Wow, child labor. Oh look, now some pudgy boy and his brother are climbing tress. You silly, silly geese, you'll fall.
Why is that one boy British and the other ain't? That kinda suspends my belief. Kids fighting adults, sure. Mustard firing from from a water gun, alright. There being an island of rainbow monkeys, that's cool. Two brothers having different accents? WHOA! Whoawhoawhoawhoa. Whoa. Slow down, show, you almost lost me there!
The tree's a secret clubhouse. Look at the shiny book. Oh, British boy wants to fight, but the other brother runs away? That's weak, dude. Sunglasses, Zero-wait, didn't they mention him in that England episode...that's the Book of KND? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME THIS SHOW SUDDENLY HAD CONTINUITY?
No. Just NO. I am officially upset, show. That was the last straw. How the hell am I supposed to connect all this now? Did the pink eye episode come before or AFTER the CAKED mission? There's so many question now...
...wait, there's more than ONE Caked mission? SCREW YOU SHOW!

Lol, I can't remember having any thoughts during ZERO. I sort of just watched the whole thing like this:  Until Sector Z showed up, and I was like "WAT"... It came out a little louder than expected and I think I startled my little brother. |

I LOVE Sector Z!!! I seriously considered making a shrine to the letter Z because of Sector Z! THAT'S how much I love them!
Also, this is my third favorite movie of all time! My first is Lion King and my second is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron.
