It was a cool fall evening at the treehouse. It had been long since the tree house was used as a KND base, but they still hung out there, daydreaming about all of the memories the place held and creating new ones all at once.
Alexandru leaned against the shorter than he remembered balcony's ledge that towered above the sidewalk below. He could see dogs running around the grass in the neighbors yards, the neighbors across the street getting in their car for a road trip, and more. He sighed and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket.
"Hey, Ziggy, babe, come on over." he said, boredom in his voice.
"Ow-" the voice on the other end sounded muffled and it took a minute for him to get back on the line. "Hello? Sorry, you woke me up! It's not dark out yet, Alex."
Alexandru bit his lip and grinned, "Did you hit your head on the top of your coffin again?"
"Mhmm...well, I'll be there soon enough. I hope you're keeping safe. I hope the doors are all locked."
"Of course," Alex rolled his eyes, "I'm not that stupid."
"Alright, see you later."
"Bye." he hung up his phone and returned back inside, making sure to lock the door behind him.
It was two weeks before Halloween and the town had already covered itself in decorations as far as the eye could see.
"I got it!" Jake grinned, looking up from the table where he drew out a greatly detailed map.
Alex peered over at him, disinterested, but walked over anyways. He ran a hand through his pink hair, trying to decipher the map's purpose.
"We're going to have a huge, greatly detailed and intricate haunted walk through the woods! We can even use that old farm house in the middle of that field a mile away." Jake grinned, always a great lover of Halloween.

Misty came in from the bathroom next to them, her hair and eyeliner slightly askew. "What are we doing for Halloween," She asked, running her hand through her recently cut short choppy hair with blue streaks. She was waiting for the current love of her life to get to the tree house when she awoke from her day's sleep.
Misty, unlike her brother and friend was more frightened than amused by Halloween, and didn't love the holiday as much as her brother did.
"I hope you don't scare me TOO bad this halloween," she said to her brother.

"Well, I've got this map," Jake explained, proudly, "I'm going to put on a big haunted walk. It's going to be awesome."

"Are you gonna charge people? Misty asked. "Because then we'd get money back." She stared outside the window. "When's it gonna get dark," she complained to Alexandru.

"Well....I suppose. I was thinking it would be free, though. Put on by people who have nothing else to do and want to participate in something really haunted and spooky. You've heard the stories about that abandoned barn a mile away, right? The one that hasn't been lived in for years?" Jake grinned.
"It's not the -barn- that's haunted, it's the house behind it." Alex corrected him, "And those are all rumors, either way."
"That's what you'd like to think. There have been countless paranormal sightings of all kinds there." Jake corrected him, rolling up the map and tying it.

"Can you guys not fight?" Misty asked. "You're like a fucking married couple, sometimes," she stressed. "Besides, It's the house AND barn that are haunted, fucktards. I've witnessed the ghost there first hand." Misty said, trying to sound calm. "Callie even took me there for a date--before I told her It was too frightening for me." Misty added.

Jake glared, "We're not fighting."
Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the door and Alex rushed to answer it, his platform heels clicking on the floor.
"Hey!" Alex grinned, grabbing Ziggy's hand and pulling him inside the tree house.
"Greetings" Ziggy said politely, motioning to everyone in the room.

Callie bounced in behind Ziggy, "hey Lachlan!" She shouted cheerfully, then greeted Alexandru and Jake. "What's everyone doing?" She asked, grabbing onto Misty's hand.

"Making plans for Halloween." Jake grinned, "Check out this map." he said, unrolling it.
Ziggy looked at it for a moment, "It's a map to the haunted area out there..."
"Yeah, exactly." Jake winked, "You know exactly where that is, don't you?"
Alex glared, "Leave him alone."
Ziggy rolled his eyes, "Puh-lease, I can take care of myself," he said, pushing Alex's hand off of his shoulder, "What were you planning on using this map for?"
"Well, on Halloween there's going to be a haunted walk that leads to there for some real haunting."
"That sounds dangerous" Alex pouted, wrapping his arms around Ziggy, who ignored him; this was serious business.
"I wouldn't mess with what you find there," Ziggy warned, "It's not all fun and games. It's not like a movie where you can just shut off the television and be okay."
"I know that." Jake said, offended, "I've been studying that place for years. I think I'm a bit more informed than you think."

"I think Ziggy would know more than you about haunted," Misty said, siding with her brother's ex and Alex's boyfriend. "After all, he is haunted," Misty smirked.

Ziggy grinned, showing off a pair of fangs.
"Whatever, I'm more of a vampire than he will ever be. What kind of vampire hangs out with a bunch of mortals? Come on. One day I'll be a much better vampire." Jake said, matter-of-fact-ly.
"It's much harder than it looks.."Ziggy mumbled, trying to hide a sad feeling.
"Let's go watch a movie, babe, this is dumb." Alex said, grabbing Ziggy's hand, but Ziggy didn't move.

"You're just jealous, jake," Misty smirked. "We both have cute vampires and you. have. no one," she taunted, poking him in the chest at each syllable.
"I hang out with Mortals and Vampires," Callie boasted. "And being vamp is a lot harder than you think, Jakob," Callie added. You have to give up a lot. You could see Alex all the time, while Ziggy can only see him a few hours a day," Callie said sadly, siding with Ziggy on this. It's even worse for me, since Misty supposedly has a bedtime because of your mom."

"Like When?" Calico challenged, placing her hands on her hips. She let go of Misty's hand, and walked over to him. "You act like you're so tough Jakob, but the truth is you're just a disgusting little ginger," she taunted. "Oh yea, I know. Misty tells me everything," she smirked.
