First, it still doesn't explain the purpose of the memory wipe in the first place. I mean seriously... it's as Maurice said, those were the best years of his life. I'm sure a lot of people share his sentiments, and there's almost nothing that is stronger than nostalgia (as my video game collection proves ^__^). Why should only particularly good operatives get to keep their memories? My thoughts exactly. I seriously think this is why the KND create enemies out of themselves. I mean, who wants to forget such awsome experiences, even if they become "too old"? And think of the friendships they'd lose! Not to mention the feeling of being used then dumped. I almost don't blame Chad. That really has to bite. Lol. Gotta give myself a reality check here, and remind myself that this is just a TV show. Heh...I sometimes take things too seriously. ^_^ I totally concur (except for the reality check thing... reality is over-rated). Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think that not even a five-year-old would be dumb enough to think this particular decomissioning process was a good idea. I'm honestly hoping that the writers have some huge plot twist planned that totally turns the entire question of decomissioning around and finds a way to make it make sense. As of now, it seemed like something that was revealed simply for the sake of one episode that ended up screwing up the rest of the show. (there's also still the whole big plot continuity error with Operation: GROW-UP)

Which one? I think I missed it. You mean, what's the really big plot hole regarding decomissioning in Op. GROW-UP? Simple: Nigel becomes an adult and officially decomissions himself. Yet... he never goes to have his memories erased. Nigel is not one to break rules, so this is kinda weird considering the context of later episodes.

I think there's one point being over looked. Number One just quit, nobody bothered to inform KND global command of it. And they wouldn't exactly have gone looking, because they had it on record that he was still ten, they had no way of knowing that Number One would be zapped with an aging ray.
If any of the members of his team had reported the incident, Number One probably would have been taken up, and decommisioned, but the other members of Sector V wouldn't have done that to him.

That's true, but you see, considering Numbuh One's behavior and strict "must follow the rules" attitude, which was ESPECIALLY predominant in this episode (he made a big deal about how he HAD to be decomissioned because it WAS the rules), for him to just up and walk away without even TRYING to contact moonbase is very suspect behavior, especially considering:
A) He had TWO WEEKS to try and contact Moonbase but didn't. B) He had the means (I've heard people say he didn't, because the treehouse was destroyed, but he could've always gone to another KND base, and him and Numbuh 86 seem to live in roughly the same town...)
Okay yea, you could make the arguement that maybe he expected the others to call him in, but again he was an adult for two weeks and so, after going one week without any decomissioning operatives coming after him, he'd probably realize he hadn't been called in.
All roads, basically, point to this being a consistency error (unless every episode we've seen so far takes place BEFORE GROW-UP and something happened which changed the way decomissioning works).

Just thought of something: if Maurice was Sector V's leader back in the day, how come he didn't stay on with the team all the way up to his decommissioning? Did he quit the team to do his solo search for Chicken Pox Island?

Did he quit the team to do his solo search for Chicken Pox Island? Maybe his parents moved, thus he moved, thus the position was opened up. Maybe it's as you said, he left the team for his solo search. Maybe the writers needed a convenient explanation as to why we've never heard of this guy if he's a former leader. Maybe the chicken came before the egg.

i loved at the end when numbah 3 started yelling at numbah 5 for going out with the chicken pox, and then when she asked her why she was smiling, numbah 5 said it's a secret and called her by her real name. i noticed that eveyone is starting to call numbah 3 by her real name, the delightful children, wally, abby and hoagie. also since numbah 3 knew all about the horrible effects of the chicken pox, that means she's the medical officer of sector v, i asked Mr W about it and he said that she is. so that explans the nuses out fit and all.
