Then fine. Any het I see in a kid's show is purely fandom and non-canon to me. Hate to break it to you, but it doesn't work like that. You can't deny that there are canon het couples in shows. And you can't deny that a kids TV station most likely won't allow a gay couple in a show. (And D&J is certainly no exception) Look, you can like the idea of two characters together, but when you start twisting reality around and going against what's canon in the show, it's a crack couple. And crack can be fun, but there's a line for how seriously you can take it. Drake and Josh do love each other, but as brothers. Surely you don't think that two people can simply love each other without actually McLovin' each other?

Well, while I have spare time today, I might as well post...
Keep in mind: A lot of these, I usually watch when I'm home on break or online, because it's hard to watch TV in my dorm.
Cartoons: Well, besides KND, I usually watch SpongeBob SquarePants and Fairly OddParents (but only certain earlier seasons of them since, sadly, I feel they've both jumped the shark), as well as Kim Possible. I used to watch Danny Phantom, but got bored with it. I also watch Avatar, and REALLY wish I could afford the DVDs. And then there's Chowder, which I checked out when I saw Madame praising it, and I found out it was a pretty cute show. As for more mature cartoons, I watch The Simpsons, Robot Chicken, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, and South Park, and maybe Family Guy (but I feel that one's jumped the shark, too). I also watch, or would like to watch, older cartoons I remember from earlier in my childhood, like Kablam!, Hey Arnold!, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Recess, Ducktales, and Sheep in the Big City. I've also recently rewatched cartoons from Warner Bros.' Silver Age of Animation, such as Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and, the one I remember most fondly from my childhood, Freakazoid!...
Live-Action: I watch The Soup a lot, as well as reruns of Whose Line is it Anyway?. I occasionally watch House (mainly older seasons, especially Season One, since I have that on DVD as of Christmas), and I'm addicted to Desperate Housewives. I also LOVE Pushing Daisies (can I just say that Lee Pace is a cutie?). Occassionally, I'll also flip over to VH1, and watch some of their dumb reality shows, just to get a cheap laugh. I also have fond memories of Even Stevens, which has to be the best live-action series Disney Channel ever made in the past decade. I also can be sometimes found watching my Firefly DVDs, after having heard a lot about it on an old 2/5 thread. And then, there's the still canceled, but still brilliant Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Surely you don't think that two people can simply love each other without actually McLovin' each other? First of, what prettyinpurpleness said, offically annoyed me. So I said that remark as sarcasm. Sarcasm. You know, like sarcastically? Het/slash whatever. Romance is romance. If slash can't be allowed, then het shouldn't be. Seriously, Kids won't care if they see Drake and Josh kiss, or care about 3/4 as a couple. Kids watch the show for the funniness. You know, like entertainment. Oh wait. "wont allow gay couples in kid tv shows" But what about little Johnny with his two mommies? Or little susie with her two daddies? Dude, it's the 2000's. I'm sure kid shows will soon be showing all kinds of couples. Gay couples included. After all kid shows deal mostly with families, and there's all kinds of families. I wasn't taking the Drake and Josh thing serious, until you had to bring it up in a rant of about how i" only like gay things" I liked the show before I even knew what gay was. I liked Drake and Josh back in the Amanda Show. Drake and Josh and Craig and Eric are not crack couples. They're practically canon. You just have to look at the little details. A crack couple is a couple with no logical proof. Um, and if you didn't know, there's a lot of logical proof. And I'm not retarded, I know that two people can love each other without being in love, or having sex all the time. I'm not stupid, which you clearly tend to think I must be.

Umm, ok. The fact that I don't pair together two close brothers as a couple and don't think that slash would be shown in Nick annoys you?
Not always. Some people may not be comfortable with slash. I'm not saying it's right, but that's the way it is.

If slash isn't allowed, het shouldn't be. Some people may not be comfortable with het, I'm sorry but that's the way it is. That's also true. There are hetrophobes in the world also.

Obviously you ignored the "to me" part of the sentence.
Of course some people aren't comfortable with het. I'm not saying everybody is. But face it; homosexuality isn't as common as you think. It's not gonna show up in every show in the world, and certainly not in a kid's show because parents simply don't want their kids to be exposed to it at a young age. If you don't think that's okay, fine.
And what's a hetrophobe? I honestly don't know.

But it's not that common, either.

Heterophobe? I've honestly only just heard of it now. (And believe me, I've heard of a lot of things)
If there are heterophobes, they are definitely a (really small) minority, and definitely not something that I would call "common".
Listen, comsie, you may not like it, but the fact is that being heterosexual is what's accepted by the public. I don't like how gay people don't get full respect and equality, either, but that's the way it is. You've got to accept that, at this point in time, a kid's network won't allow blatant homosexuality on their shows.

Meh, I'm not going to agree with you. I know that hetro is what's popular on tv shows, but that's just for now. I do believe in a few years kids shows will have gay parents or something. It's becomming more recongonized now. And I do know that Drake and Josh is pretty slashy, wether you believe me or not. I'm a huge fan of the show, and I beleive it's pretty slashy. And with that being said, I'm tired of this thread bringing so much conflict.
~LOCK~
any problems with that, just p.m me.
