Crayon Shinchan doesn't Translate Well in American so Funimation altered 90% of the script to make it just hilarious..... Oh..... wow, I can't begin to explain how much better the American Shinchan is to Japanese or English...
(It was translated to English twice due to jokes working different in other places)

Anime cons are fun. =D
However, while watching this screening of DeathNote, these losers behind me said "Gah, I can't stand the English dub! They botched the voices so much! When I hear L's voice I'm gonna cry!"
Seriously, shut up. The English voices are fine. The voice actors do a good job. I've heard both the Japanese and the English voices, too, and I'm not biased either way.

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo did a good job with dubbing, too, I think.
Of course, it could just be the pure awesome of the plot brainwashing me, but I can live with that.

Hey, some dubs really are awesome. I thought Death Note's was really good...but I keep laughing when I hear Light's voice...only because it's the same man who voiced Mousse on Ranma 1/2....and the characters are just so different that it makes it funny.

I'm only a little bothered by the voices on Death Note. They sound slightly off. Maybe it's just 'cause I've seen the original.
Cowboy Bebop dub-
I've never heard the original... But I love the English dub! If I heard the original it might ruin it for me.

Moving on to cosplay, what's your opinion of Man-Faye?
I really don't see what the big deal is. He's a goofy guy who chose to do something funny. A lot of people find him to be in poor taste, but since when as anime ever been in GOOD taste? No one has a problem with a female running around 3/4 naked, but God-forbid some hairy guy shows up in skimpy shorts?

I don't care what anyone else says. >< Rofl at Akon last year while waiting in line, I made friends with those who were waiting in line too. We ended up seeing how many people in the line we could get to do the hokey pokey and sing the Sailor Moon theme and such. Then this Vash cosplayer (a reaaaally good one) caught us singing the pokemon them (the first one) and we found out he could do a great imitation of James' voice! Me and him ended up doing the team rocket motto in front of a live audience! XD He said I was a good Jesse. . . heh. |

I saw Man-Fay in person over the summer. He had a huge crowd around him. I found it less than impressive and walked away. Though at least since he's lost some weight he doesn't terrify me anymore. (I have nothing against large people. large people in small costumes....that I have a problem with)

AGH, I neeeed to get Beck. No exception. I tried to get the first dvd at best buy the other day but they only had the second and third. (I hate that). Anyway, right. Beck. Heard a lot of good things about it, but the main reason I want to get it is because of: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_AyresOne of my four favorite voice actors like ever. I already was able to meet my idol @ Akon, but he's next on the list *really hoping he comes to tx* Apparently, he voices the main character. AND HE SINGS TOO! *squeals* |
