I really liked this episode despite the fact that when I saw that Tommy was assigned to Sector V, I was envisioning future episodes with him as a member and suddenly became very angry. I like Tommy but in very small doses.
Seeing the Kids Next Door as animals was a blast though I'm just as confused as everybody else on the seal choice for One. (And turning Numbuh 2 into a hippo was a cheap shot!) Still, I liked how they actually managed to take on Father for even a minute or two.
The booger thing didn't bother me at all. (At least it wasn't the Common Cold!) They're kids. Where else are they going to get DNA from? They're not going to submit blood samples (needles are not a kid's best friend), and they might not even think about hair.
Speaking of boogers, I thought that the plan was that Tommy wouldn't be affected because he became a member after the code module was stolen, so Father's ray wouldn't know that he was an operative. What an ingenius plan that you actually had, Father!
Seeing the Delightful Sheep from Down the Lane made me quite happy. XD I would kill for a decent screenshot. I'd make a Winamp skin of it and stare at it for hours.
This episode also confirmed the fact that Father scares me. (Hard to believe that he's voiced by the same guy who voiced two beloved characters from my childhood: Egon Spengler and the Brain.) I was also in awe of his ruthlessness. I also thought he might surrender to save his children, so it surprised me when he didn't.
Overall Score: 9/10 The awesome jokes, action, and suspense overrode the overload of Tommy. (Too much...for my...tolerance level...) And the Irish setter joke certainly helped. ^^

Oh yeah, I forgot some things.
1. Numbuh 362 IS the leader of the KND (I think someone mentioned this already). Or, she became the leader when Chad was kicked out.
2. It seems Father may not care that much for his Children (if he really loved them he would have hesitated longer or surrender). Okay, sure, it needed to last longer to have the last few scenes between Tommy and Father, but still.

I looked on the credits carefully and Rachel Macfarlane, the sister of Seth Macfarlane, the creator of Family Guy, has her role back. Awwww right. If you're a Numbuh 362 and the Macfarlane Siblings fan, get it down and boogie. Don't forget to support them. Even the Tommy/362 couple. Everybody can support them. You can too!
Ps. Also if you know already, the ending song is created by Fake Brain.

This is my all-time fave so far. It's sad to see Tommy's dream go broken but it must have been Father's way of revenge for his past defeat by Tommy. Man he is really evil, but off the chayainn!!! The Sheep reference was pretty cool. So Numbuh 362 is incharge.

sorry my review took so long, but I was so overwhelmed by this episode it took me a few days to find the right words for it.
Absolutly Awsome!
It kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole half hour wondering what would happen next. Father is indeed evil, Maurice does an outstanding job sending chills down my spine whenever he speaks. And the new fire powers we see only makes Father even more fear enducing as does his total loathing of the KND and his own children.
Speaking of which, the transformation of the KND into animals is still a chilling sight for me. Great job Tom and Mo. Few cartoons pull off empathy this well, at least from me. (Although I do have a history of crying at movies on a regular basis)
Here's to more great KND adventures to come, more sightings of The Tommy, and maybe a little less tushie in the future. (I swear, somebody at Cartoon network has a tushie fedish)

It also seems to me that Numbah 86 is second in command... why else would the head of *decommissioning* go to the CND graduation party? My theory is that when Chad left 362 and 86 looked at eachother, talked about hiring a new kid to take his job, said "nah," and split his job between the two of them. ^^()

ON THE SEAL ISSUE- half-remembering some irish talk about selkies (seal spirits) i figured that if they had 'em in ireland they would have 'em in england. but, being the good little researcher i am, i looked it up. this is from The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary- "Grey seals are found on both sides of the North Atlantic, also on the West Coast off Canada, on the East Side of Iceland, the Faeroes, Northern Norway, North East Russia, in the Baltic Sea and off the British Isles. The British population - two thirds of the worlds population - is found principally off the Scottish Islands, Cornwall and the Scillies, the Pembrokeshire Islands, the Farne islands and the North and West coasts of Ireland. Favoured haul out sites include inaccessible islands, coves and caves. " so apparently there are, indeed, british seals. the hippo was still a cheap shot!! grr! The booger thing didn't bother me at all. (At least it wasn't the Common Cold!) They're kids. Where else are they going to get DNA from? They're not going to submit blood samples (needles are not a kid's best friend), and they might not even think about hair. that's pretty much been my additude - my problems are more along the lines of technical difficulties - considering boogers are made of particles that are THEN covered in snot... wouldn't the code module have a bugger time trying to sort it all out? but as for the "grossness" factor... i really wasn't all that grossed out. and you know what? 10 year olds think boogers are funny. as much as all of us are older fans, the show is essentially written for kids (with lots of extra thrown in) and if kids find something funny, it's gonna be in there. no biggie. Seeing the Delightful Sheep from Down the Lane made me quite happy. XD I would kill for a decent screenshot. I'd make a Winamp skin of it and stare at it for hours. i'm on it!

This was my favorite 30-min ep. Hey, could someone get pics of the KND as animals? Why couldn't there be a special background for the credits?

God I love Research!Scone. The whole selkie concept is totally comming back to me now. But look at the listed locations: everything there is north of England propper. Correct me if I'm wrong, but One's accent is a general Southern English. What's he doing with an animal that lives (relativley) far north of him as his 'spirit animal' or whatever? Maybe it just doesn't matter, but maybe he lived farther North (not on one of the islands mentioned in your research, as far as I know only Rustic Peasants Using Peat Heat and Father Ted live on those), say Scotland, for a while. Considering the details of our fic, wouldn't that be the oddest coincidence?
Cybra: I too shivered when I thought of Numbah T joining Sector V and showing up on a regular basis. Not that I dislike him per se, but a little goes a looong way.
Poor Four though. No one appreciated his over-dramatic gesture of threatening to quit. It's not like his team could really afford his absence, either- he and One are clearly the best fighters. It'd be like loosing your big guns and having to relly on very good infantry- not impossible, to be sure, but a hell of a lot harder.
As to Parron's surmise on why 86 was there, I'm not convinced she's second in command. Certainly that's a possibility, but I assume the graduation ceremony is important enough that all ranking officers would just be there. The head of a department in high school isn't necessarily the principal's right hand man/woman, but they do show up at graduation, just 'cause it's the thing to do. It certainly seemed like every other operative was there (Tommy commented on the wierdness of Sector V not comming, and the room was packed, and the following invasion seemed to take every C:KND operative). So second she may be, but I'm not sure of it.
I wonder if any one has a good guesstimate for the overall size of that organization?

Tako- having taken Egyptology, mad props on your hippo knowledge. Egyptians were actually more afraid of hippos than crocs. Whereas the crocs enjoyed sunning themselves and chilling out, only rarley consuming humans, hippos 'exercised' by taking it upon themselves to overturn boats full of people. If the floating people didn't drown, get crushed by the wreckage, crushed or mained by the hippos, then the crocs, aroused by the blood, screaming, mad flailing bodies in the water, etc., would amble over and BAM, deliciousness ensued for the reptiles. The shaddows of barges were like hippo-crack.
In addition, they often took out swimmers. Intrusions on their territory did not amuse them. They kept little idols of hippos in ntheir homes to honnor them and ward off danger if they had anything to do with the river in daily life (and it was hard not to).

Nice research and good points from both scone and Teakettle! (BTW, welcome, Teakettle! Sorry for the late greeting!) Teakettle, I actually forgot about the whole hippos thing. :::slaps forehead::: Maybe the whole hippo transformation wasn't as much of a cheap shot afterall. Maybe it was a commentary on not taking something at face value. I mean, hippos don't look it but they're dangerous. And Numbuh 2 can be pretty dangerous with his 2x4 technology and piloting skills. However, if there wasn't a hidden meaning, it was a cheap shot. Yay! :::claps hands::: If you can get the shot, and the skin doesn't look too terrible, I'll post it up for everybody to enjoy! Everybody needs the Delightful Sheep to decorate their computer. ;D ~Cybra

Call me crazy, but I just thought of some animal ideas. If Numbuh 5 is French, I say she shoulda been a French Poodle. Cree Summer already provides the voice for Cleo on Clifford: The Big Red Dog an If I'm right, Cleo is also a poodle. She looks like one at least. Numbuh 1 should be a Bald Eagle, Numbuh 4 a wallabay.
I've heard of French Poodles existing but nothing more. I still think my idea's crazy.

The French poodle idea makes sense, but why would Numbuh 1 be a bald eagle if he's British?
