I wonder if any of you heard the long-awaited sequel to the first Starcraft and Brood War.
I hope so, especially I wish I could do the classic Zergling Rush all over again.

The official website is www.starcraft2.com. And speaking of Zerglings, you probably have to pay for the upgrade that allows you to turn Zerglings into Banelings.

Oh so they actually ARE making a Starcraft II. For awhile I thought it was gonna be like Duke Nukem Forever... as in Forever in production.

Yes, I've been waiting for a long time already ever since they are developing Starcraft Ghost. But actually, Blizzard started developing the game in SECRET since after The Frozen Throne.
I also wonder, they may have beautiful graphics, but how did they come out a game like Warcraft 3 to be so beautiful without using a lot of System Requirements. Even Red Alert 2's system requirements are higher than Warcraft 3's.
Anyway, with the new Havoc engine in use, I'm sure it's going to be even more painful to the low-powered PCs.
As for the Banelings, I saw the Gameplay Preview video, it's big like 200mb+ in size, but it's worth it. You can get that from the official site or either FileFront.

They're obviously going to toss out some of the units from Starcraft 1.

I also wonder, they may have beautiful graphics, but how did they come out a game like Warcraft 3 to be so beautiful without using a lot of System Requirements. Even Red Alert 2's system requirements are higher than Warcraft 3's. Efficient programming. See, it isn't really a matter of "Game has X so it requires Y," but rather "Game is programmed so that it handles X by going through Z path and using resources in W configuration." Here's an analogy: You're pushing a heavy chest of drawers. Your goal is to get it up the hallway to the master bedroom. Your options are: A) Just push the entire drawer as-is B) Take all the drawers out, leave them there, push the chest, then come back for the drawers. C) Ask someone to help you move it so it'll be easier. D) Use those easy-move slider things to make the thing virtually glide over the floor to the master bedroom. Option A works, but it requires you to push a lot of weight at the same time, thus requiring you to be pretty strong. Or, in computer terms, your comp is processing a lot of data at once and thus needs higher requirements in order to get it done in a timely manner. Option B also works, by dividing up a big task into several smaller tasks. You don't need to be as strong, however you take more time for it because now instead of making one trip, you have to make three or four or five... or in computer terms, your comp transfers bits of data at a time and therefore needs to be faster in order to get it done on time. Option C works too, but the problem is now you need help... again, in computer terms that means, more resources. Option D is Efficient Programming--this is when the programmer has found an algorithm that gets the job done fast, using a minimum of resources. This means that it leaves more resources free, which allows the game to run on lower-end computers. Did that make any sense whatsoever?

Well, JamesEight, that looks more like a classified secret that Blizzard kept. They're obviously going to toss out some of the units from Starcraft 1. Old units will return, but some will be taken out, such as the Dragoon, will be replaced by Immortals instead.

I wonder how the storyline is going to play out. I have the feeling yet another Overmind or at least Daggoth is going to be involved in this game.
The Protoss-Zerg hybrids are going to be in this game, but appear about as frequently as the Burning Legion appeared in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos.

I'm not quite sure about Daggoth, I saw him dead and killed by Zeratul, but not very sure because I checked Wikipedia that is somewhat confusing. Just like Alexei Stukov, I thought he was dead, but he's actually get infested by Zerg, then Raynor capture him again to de-infest him, which is actually possible.
As for the game episodes, probably hopefully Episode 7 - 9 will be different, but, the last episode is Terran victory. Since Brood War, well, Zerg has the victory in the final chapter.

You know this chapter is going to have SOMETHING to do with the Invid, and will end with the Terrans having to send out five space explorers to bring back Voltron. Believe it!

Invid and Voltron? Never heard of them. Sounds like Star Trek to me. Well, to be honest, I'm not a big fan of Starcraft though, just a small one. I'm a big fan of Command & Conquer actually.
And about regarding the Zerg-Protoss hybrid, well, it sounds like it's going to be another infested Terran again. We know the Infested Terran Command Centre building, so, how about an infested Protoss structure instead?

I admit I'm absolutely horrible in this game but I can't wait for it to be released just because I want to know how the story develops after Kerrigan destroyed the Terran-Protoss alliance battle in Brood War. And so far from what I've seen in the previews, the Protoss have really impressed me with their arsenal and hopefully the Terrans and Zerg will do the same to me as well. Oh, and for those who haven't seen it yet: kotaku.com/gaming/scanners/new-terran-units-for-starcraft-ii-revealed-280973.phpWhat excites me the most and what I'm anticipating from this game is the alliance between Raynor and the Toss and how will they develop and expand their story to a new level. Raynor's story intrigues me more than the boring Civil War plot with Mengsk and hopefully they will keep the same interesting story that captivated me when playing the Terran mission years ago. That, and the new units to play with.

No, not yet, according to Gamespot and Wikipedia, that game will not be released until next year. We're not sure it's exact release date as Blizzard has a lot more work to do.

After checking out the updates about the game, I'm wondering if they'll bring back the Medic and replace the Firebat with another infantry-killer.
As for the Zerg, most of the Cerebrates have been killed, I wonder who Kerrigan will have as her lieutenants.
I've had an interesting Zerg unit idea: a bloated ground unit with spider-like spike legs that shoots spores at enemy units and the enemy units turn into infested minions when they die (it behaves like the Dark Ranger's Dark Arrow special ability from Warcraft III).
The Xel'Naga have returned and are probably just trying to save the universe from the Zerg through drastic means. There might be a plot twist such as the Terrans being genetically engineered or watched over by the ancient race or maybe the Xel'Naga being (*gasp*) genetically related to the Terrans or even their ancestors!
