A friend of mine alerted me to the press announcement for KND Season Three. " .... Tom, please tell me you're kidding. And all fanfic authors, be prepared to have your work invalidated. Otherwise, enjoy. What I'm interested in is that this season finally answers the question that, yes, the KND DO go to school--the first two seasons both took place over the course of summer break. I'm going to love seeing how the KND handle school life... |

It's cool that we would see even more about the KND's origin, but if it's shown exactly HOW and WHO started it it may also throw a lot of things off, unless their idea is VERY similar to my KND origin theory. Oh well, I guess there's always alternate universes, right? My fics are already AU, especially after what happens in MIND... Edit: Nigel's bare bottom? B.U.T.T.? Um... WTH? |

Whereas mine follow no definite continuity and are willing to take liberties for the sake of good storytelling. I'm simply not going to worry about it. After all, just because season three might invalidate my fanfics doesn't mean they lose any quality. After all, Season Two invalidated the Hoagie/Cheryl pairing me and Jess went for in Operation: CHERYL (still in progress guys) but that's not gonna stop me from doin' it anyway. |

I doubt they would, I still think they're good even though I know they would never happen on the show. However, at least be prepared for certain purist KND reviewers who would go something like "OMG WAIT DAT NOT WHAT THE SHOW SAID THAT DIDNT HAPPEN ON THE SHOW U HERETIC U DONT WATCH THE SHOW U E-D-IT!!!!!11111" And yeah, I'm exaggerating... though I wouldn't be too surprised if any of us DO get a moronic review like that. Delightful Child/Kid Next Door pairing things were probably invalidated to begin with, so... keep on writin'!  I'm sure it would be a great read. Anyways. I've calmed down a little, as you can see that I no longer have an angry/shocked tone in my message. I'll still write my AU fics. After all, no one has really said anything negative yet about what happens at the middle-end of MIND, and two of the KND "rules" in ROOKIE, so I guess continuing on is fine. Besides, I'd *really* like to write the once-in-a-while yet ongoing saga that sprouts after the KND origin (my theory anyway) is revealed later in my fics... Still, I kinda regret looking into this thread now. I best remember this equation: Checking out something not seen in a promo + Checking out something that won't come on for a LONG while = DON'T!! |

Well, the thing about fanfic writing is that, outside of preview or evaluation purposes, the input of others matters little. It all comes down to doing what you want to do. I mean, two of my best fanfics were The Real Truth and Best-Worst Scenario, two fanfics anyone else would've shot themselves before committing to computer bites (and frankly, I'm surprised I haven't been lambasted for Best-Worst Scenario yet). I wrote those in a time where I had only seen. five episodes of the show and didn't even know there was a fandom. Didn't hurt 'em a bit. Probably even helped make 'em better. I certainly didn't have reviews in mind when I did them, otherwise a certain major subplot of Best-Worst would've been Best-Nixed altogether. But as Mr. Miyagi once said, "If come from inside you, always correct one." |

My site features the same press release. I have a page dedicated to season three now and when new info is available it will be up there.  The orgin of the Organization is unknown, the only thing that we know is TRUE is the fact that Nigel Uno did NOT start the Kids Next Door. The full story is on my site in the "NEWS" section. |
