I got two out of three: Splatterhouse and Quake.

[To Numbuh 0xFF] I recognized both Ultima Underworld and Zork Zero *waves his proud copies of the Zork Legacy Collection and The Ultimate RPG Archives* so I get two of those cookies back! ^__^
Out of curiosity, what four games did you recognize?
Oh, I recognize Terminal Velocity as well if we're talking about the flight/combat sim game.
[To Shwoo] How do games become "unwinnable?"

It's mainly in IF games and older adventure games. It's when you can't win a game because you missed getting an item or doing an event earlier in the game, and you can't go back to it. Wikipedia articleI've heard of Bubble Bobble, Quake, and I've played a demo of a Journeyman game. Not the one you mentioned, though.

Ahhh, those. Thank goodness for multiple save states!
I had that happen to me twice in the last couple of months: Once in the original Zork (where you need the flashlight because using the torch will set off an explosion and kill you) and another in King's Quest V (where I ate a pie that I later learned was supposed to be for something else). I hate it when that happens.
And let's not even talk about the PC version of Shadowgate...

Oooh you're good. But that's okay, I love a challenge.
Okay how about "Hunt the wumpus"? (a blast from the past)
Or "King Of Dragon Pass"?
And to top it all off how about "Alien Incident"?
I am the lord of obscure games... ;D

That you are. I would have to look up all three of those to be sure of WHAT they are. All right, how is this: Tell me the one game to feature Ryu and Ken and to call itself "Street Fighter" that actually was NOT a fighting game!

There was Puzzle Fighter. It also featured Chun Li and Sakura (from SF Alpha 3 and Rival Schools), as well as some Dark Stalkers characters.

Note my original clue: to call itself "Street Fighter"
"Puzzle Fighter" obviously isn't that game, since it replaces "Street" with "Puzzle."

Ah...wait...no..hmmm....
There WAS a pinball called Street Fighter but I asume that's not what you had in mind. There was also a NES platformer game that had Ken...I think...and included Street Fighter in its name but I don't remember Ryu...he could be there, I guess.
Hmmm, now that I think about it there was also an interactive movie thingie that came out in Japan for the PS and possibly some other console (I've obviously never played it)...
Anyways the Wumpus game is ancient and can be found as a part of the bsd_games package for Linux.
King of Dragon pass is an indie German game that's half RPG half strategy half something else. (Yep, it's a game and a half! ;D)
Alien Incident is an adventure game from 1994, I think.

The NES game was what I was thinking about. It was called "Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight." Honestly, I've never played it so I don't know which of the two it features.
