I got this little gem from a friend the other day. It looked nice so I decided to give it a try. Just check it out.
Thirteen hours, forty-seven minutes and some seconds later I ruled the galaxy. I also had a headache.
The game can be explained as "civilization in space" and while it has the same mode of play as that old time favourite it also brings some new tricks like domestic politics (woe to you if you lose the elections), starbases (you can build a death star in this game...that alone should drive any geek worth his/her salt to play it) and a wonderful model of cultural interaction (mind you, this was WAY before Civ III). Also it has a demonic AI and a staggeringly comprehensive diplomatic system. There's also a free update to version 1.20 that makes the game better by an order of magnitude.
Anyone else play it?
All in all I give it a 'Q' out of 10. ;D

I'd look for that game, but I'm horrible at those kinds of games. I can't even beat all the training levels of Age of Empires.

I've been introducing myself as Academician Prokhor Zakharov of the University of Planet for a while now. Does that answer your question? ;D
