I like the notion of a fictitious football league. If I want NFL games, I'll stick with Madden. No other game company makes anywhere near the quality aesthetically capturing the unique teams and their fanbases. This, however, looks interesting and unique. The website does an excellent job of coming up with a unique history for it, and links to "charities" and a team store. It also looks slicker and more realistic than the joke ones that Rockstar puts up for its games.
This could, however, be one of those games that goes either way. Seeing all the off the field shenanigans can be entertaining, but above all, I want a serious football game. If this doesn't deliver, and it's just a mockery of a sport, ala BMX XXX, I won't buy it. I just hope that's side stuff that takes a backseat to football gameplay. I'm also concerned that campaign mode is only one season long. I hope it's a franchise mode where you can manage your team for many different seasons.
