parron and I were swapping stories in how we got our pennames, so I thought I'd ask a question to everybody:
Where did your penname come from?
I'll go first so you guys can point and laugh. Sit back and eat some popcorn while I tell you a little tale.
When I first started writing (when I was in the sixth grade, I think), my fics were in script format, original characters abounded, OOC, terrible plot development and characterization...:::shudder::: I have hard copies of these attrocities stored in a box in my closet. I've been tempted to burn them but I keep them as a reminder that if I'm lazy, I could slip back.
But something good came out of it: My badfic actually got me my penname.
My other penname "Worthy" (which is used primarily for SWAT Kats since they know me there as that) was what I was originally writing under. I was trying to create a gray-area character called "Cybra" who was a cyber theif out of simple greed, not for world domination or anything. One of the heroes would, naturally, have a crush on her. (And, dang, that's hard to admit that I was planning on doing that.)
Well, the gray-area character died in infancy. She never got written, but I liked her name, so I stole it as my penname.
So what's you guys' stories?
~Cybra

My super long winded reply!! Like Cybra -- as she knows -- my pen-name has embarressing origions.
About two years ago people in the DBZ fandom really started to get into DBGT, which stars the "younger" generation of DBZ, the children of the original fighters.
At the end of DBZ, Trunks (I'm sure you've heard of him, as he's the "pretty DBZ poster boy" >__>;;) is still single, as are Marron, a blonde feminine girl, and Pan, a tomboyish fighter girl. The three of them are all in the "second generation," and so a war of fangirls broke out: Should Trunks be with Marron, or Pan?
In DBZ, characters can wear these earrings that allow two people to fuse together into one (potentially stronger) being. When this happens, a new person is born, with a new name and looks based on the two people he/she was born from.
I was, at the time, a big Trunks fangirl, and I thought to myself, "here's a wonderful solution to the problem! Have Marron and Pan fuse into someone named "Parron," and the flame-war will end! Also, I'll be Parron."
v__v;;;;
Well, as it turned out, I WAS smart enough not to "go public" with this idea. A year later, however, Marron and Pan were my two favorite characters (as I'm like both of them on occassions), and I began my fanfiction.net account. So I said "what the hell," and I was forever known as Parron.
On the other hand, my LJ name -- Hinikuish -- is simply a weak pun (I love weak puns...). "Hiniku," depending on how you write it, either means "Sarcasm" or "Ham." I am often sarcastic, and I like Ham sandwhiches (plus, I'm jewish. Yay, ham!). So I added "-ish" to the end, and all was well in the world. *nodnod*
The End. ^____^;;;

well, me and teakettle were bumming around with the first part of the first chapter of Ish and no pennames. we had to pick two things that went together and fit our personalities, and that weren't a lot like anybody else's fandomnames... so yeah. i am sooo a cookie, deep in my soul.
really not that interesting of a story - there are a few choice ones from my adolecense that are pretty funny, though. (along with being massivly embarassing....)

Darlimon is my Digimon I made up. And one day I drew a doll of her. I decided to use that name as my Deviantart name and I've used it for some other things since then. A lot of places I'm just known as Megan F. Which is my first name and last inital. Ooh, Elaviel. That's fun to say. Elaviel Elaviel Elaviel *does a jig*

"Elaviel" is rather nice to say. It just slides off the tongue. What does it mean?

I'll tell you a story about my penname. The OneEyedPimp was originally made from Insomniac with Dave Athell from Comedy Central and it's the part of the lyric. When you watch the intro, you see an asian guy wearing an eyepatch. That makes him One Eyed Pimp. But what if I put 20, and form it together, that'll make a 20 year old one eyed pimp. The last time I put FilipinoThug because there's an asian thug around LA. Then something came up after I was banned, I decided to change it to Numbuh 361 because that's my numbuh. It's division of my numbuh, 361 / 19 = 19 because I want a Nissan Silvia so I can put a nineteen inches rims on the Silvia. Nineteen inches rims is the biggest rim I can get. 20 inches is way too big. Then I put my initials, JB because it's my name. I can't change it anymore, I want to leave it. And that's the story of my penname.

The origin of my penname... Max is obviously my real name and K is simply the first letter of my last name.
Yep! That's pretty much it! ;D

Mine is pretty simple.
My name is Samantha, and sometimes people refer my to as Sam or Sammy. And I have a strange obsession with the word "Meh" so Sammeh was born.
And the 17 couldn't be easier. I was born October 17th.

Time to hear the stories about my many nicknames! Yippee! OK, the ones I go by most often are Lizzi and Liza (and Liza is pronounced "Lie-za"). I started going by Lizzi when I was 8, and kids at my summer camp had some difficulty pronouncing Liza right. So I said, "*sigh* Call me Lizzi." And I spelled it Lizzi because I wanted to be different. On FF.net and at a lot of other places, I'm DerScroot. I got it from some screen name generator, and I thought it sounded cool. My FF.net pen name used to be KawaiiLilDevil, which is now my name on DeviantArt. And I got Numbuh 1017 because my birthday's on October 17. I believe there's 3 people on the forum with their birthday on October 17...Tofu's beeday's on the 17th too, right? My custom title here, "The Funky Blue Turtle" is my "title" among some of my friends. My friend Sarah came up with it for some reason. And I go by Roku, which is a shorter version of "Miroku," my favorite character on the anime InuYasha. My friend Nikki calls me it most of the time. That or "octopus," which came from a scene in an episode of InuYasha when Shippou mistakes a monk floating down the stream for an octopus.

Cool topic, Cybra! But anyhow, my original, registered name is under ForcedToWriteThis. I suddenly decided to change it because I got this preconceived notion that people would start calling me "Forced," -- hehe, and, well, it wouldn't make me look too good, would it? =)~

Juliefoo Jojo87, -- Julie is my actual name in RL, But When i first Joined Cartoon orbit, waay back like, over 3 years ago, the names were randomly generated, and you get to pick from a list out of like, 5 or 10..
Well, i was looking through the list, and "Juliefoo Jojo87" caught my eyes, cause it had my name in it!
I just go by Juliefoo now, it stuck ;D
"Numbuh 87" is also, kinda from my Orbit name.. "Juliefoo Jojo87"-- i didn't realy pick the number that came with it, it was just there. So Numbuh 87, came from the randomly generated "Juliefoo Jojo87" ;D
No, i wasn't born in 87, i didn't graduate in 87, nothing happened to me in 1987, it's just randomly generated ;D
But it's cool, No one else on the internet has my name! Juliefoo Jojo87! ;D ;D
