Cartoon Cartoon Movies

Can anyone see anymore CN movies(Cartoon Cartoons that is)? And i'm talking about ones that get to the cinema, not ones shown on CN or straight DVD releases(like they are doing for KND). CN has never been much of a Movie channel, whereas other Cartoon channels get quite a few big-screenmovies.

The PPG movie was a flop IMO, in the UK where I live although I have a holiday home in the USA, there was barely any mention or showings of it ANYWHERE! I saw it for the first time in the States incidently and after a promising build up and much hype it wasn't that good for me, and that was a shame because I was really excited about it at the time. That just my opinion, others my disagree.

The only CCs I think have big screen movie potentional at the mommrnt are KND, Fosters, Ed, Edd n Eddy and Billy & Mandy. They are certainly my 4 favourites at this momment of time, all 4 have still got other seasons to come and the shows are generally very good, and have particularily impressed me in the more recent seasons. At times I would have thought a few had big-screen potentional, Dexter was a personal favourite of mine that I thought might make it to the big-screen, but the last 2 seasons were totally AWFUL, some episodes were pointless and the original animation was better. Courage(why oh why did they stop that) might have made a good movie but would have been pointless when the series stopped. There are probably others but I won't go through everything.

So I think we could see another CC on the big-screen sometime, but the CN big-screen dubut didn't really impress so i'm not sure if another one would get enough support.

I am a fan of The Powerpuff Girls, but I hated the movie. It was just awful, it didn't have the spirit of the show... the animation didn't work, the (few) jokes didn't work... In my opinion, Ego Trip was the one that should have gone to theaters. It was completely brilliant, from the script to the animation.

I liked the Powerpuff Girls movie, even if it was a rather run-of-the-mill origin story.

That monkey who sings "My name is Hacha-Chacha!" just kills me every time.

I thought the PPG Movie was pretty crappy. It just didn't follow the upbeat spirit of the show. Everything was dark, and I never thought I'd see that much angst in the Powerpuff Girls (outside ff.net, of course). It especially didn't help that the show itself pretty much died out after the cinematic debut.

I agree, though. CC has good big screen potential, especially in the Foster's and KND departments. I was extremely disappointed to find out that the KND movie currently in the works will only be for TV. I love Billy and Mandy, but I couldn't see any kind of potential storyline in there. Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy has potential as a movie, but probably wouldn't rake in as much money as Foster's or KND. They seem to be the most popular shows at the moment. Actually, I could also see a Teen Titans movie, for that matter. That would be very popular, I think.

As for Courage, I'm extremely disappointed that they cancelled it, but my sister gets angry every time it's mentioned. That show would have had a large amount of success in the theater.

Just so you know, there's a live-action Jonny Bravo movie in the works...starring The Rock.

KND might work as a movie (let's see how ZERO is, as well as the live-action one Mr. W has planned), and I think Foster's could pull it off. Ed Edd & Eddy I'm not so sure about. It can be funny, but I'm surprised it's survived for like 6000 seasons on three sight gags. An hour and a half of failed scams and Ed-isms might be pushing it. Plus, that style of animation gives me a headache after too long.

There's more to Ed Edd n Eddy than sight gags and Edisms. There's Rolfisms, for one thing. But I don't really want to discuss it right now. And it's only has four seasons.

What I'd love is a crossover between Kids Next Door and Ed Edd n Eddy. But there's so many reasons why that could never happen. For one thing, most people would feel that a crossover would ruin the feel of Ed Edd n Eddy. And the animation is so different.
