Does anyone watch this TV show or collect the cards?

My brother was watching Duelmasters, more specifically, an episode that copied some dialogue off of Return of the Jedi! In one episode, Shobu told his light blue-haired opponent whose name I can't remember, "Your overconfidence is your weakness" and the opponent tells Shobu, "Your faith in your friends is yours". I noticed this even though I stayed up all night before the episode and was feeling groggy. I thought "holy sh**" when I heard the dialogue.

Sheesh, rippin' off ROTJ. I never watch the show, it's really just a huge rip-off of Yu-Gi-Oh and it's not even that good, in fact Yu-Gi-Oh itself isn't all that great (although I do collect the cards and watch the show), but when you look at it in the big picture I mean.

DM was first. I remember wathching it when I was about 5.

And it's a lot better IMHO.

Really!? I didn't know that. This is somewhat reminiscent to Pokemon and Digimon, where a lot of people thought Digimon was a rip off of Pokemon, but actually Digimon came first. Anyway, what channel did it (DM) come on?

Duel Masters is on Cartoon Network, weekdays at 6:00 am

Duel Masters is one of the funniest anime shows in this entire otaku universe. Well Plastic Cow Productions made those real-world scenes when Shobu hit Rekuta from far away. I guess they did. I'm not sure the original would be the same as that. I like to say, "Bolshack Dragon, Ike!"

It's on Tonami over here. And when I was 5 it was on a cnanel whic was simply called "The Children Chanel" (Can you guess why?) But it evebtually got canceld (I mean the chanel) Because Nickolodien and Cartoon network appeard and TCC just gave up trying.

It's interesting to note that some of the show on TCC appeard later on other chenels Like DM being shown on Toonami now,

One of the other shows I frequently watched at 5 was Hamtaro of course. But tha to was lost.

It returned on Fox for a while but it's gone again...

Personally, I think Duel Masters is kind of stupid. The rules to the card game kind of confuse me, and the show is so poorly drawn and animated.

I've been more of a Yu-Gi-Oh kind of girl anyway. Not the dub on Kids WB, but the original.

I agree with most of the others: I don't like this show. They say in commercials that it's 'the hottest TCG ever', but I thought that the official best ones are in this order:
1. Magic: The Gathering
2. Yu-Gi-Oh
3. Pokemon
4. Digimon
Something like that. Notice that Duel Masters doesn't even appear on the list. I also don't like the poor animation, or the main plot.

I've never really sat down to watch DM because I thought it be stupid the way I watched the advertisments. Actually I'm not into those Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh like shows. Sure I used to be obsessed with Poke'mon as a kid of 8 years, but now it's just, old and boring. You can also add stupid. I still watch 'em once in a while, but usually that's boredom. I'll stop talking now.

**back on topic** Well, i dont watch Duel Masters either. I dont even know most of what its about. doesnt look interesting though (but then again, neither do the newer Pokemon eps that dont have Gary in them...)

Sorry to bring this topic back (even though it's only been 15 days), but I now have over 50 duel masters cards and I'm getting some more off of EBAY.

I don't watch the show though.
