Well, I finally got a good selection of questions in mind. And I am rather pleased with the results.
heya WTBC!
sorry to hear i won't be receiving any softballs from you. but it's okay since i kind of prefer hockey to softball anyway. don't get me wrong- i love a good game of softball but it's just too darn cold to play lately.
so instead of softball... let's answer some questions:
Q: Are you ready?
A: yup.
Q: No...I said...ARE....YOU....READY?
A: I said, 'YUP'. jeez... are ya hard of hearing or something?
Q: If this does turn out to be the final season of KND, will your sooper-scary lawyers finally let you read our fanfics?
A: by the time we're done there'll be exactly sixty three buh-million and seven of them! how'll i find time to read them ALL?!?
Q: Who's the guy in the lizard suit? I see this villain show up in the crowds all the time, yet he never has any lines. What's his name? What are his powers/weapons? What's his issue with the KND? Will he ever get an episode of his own? And most importantly, why the lizard suit?
A: that's 'the iguana' and is based on KND inker supreme robert 'the iguana' smith. we're not sure what his beef is with the KND but it probably has something to do with sitting on a warm rock in the sun.
Q: I noticed another villain with a giant lightbulb on his head. Can you give me any info on him?
A: that's 'the big idea' aka KND character designer kevin kobasic. way back when we did operation: MOVIE we needed lots of villains to fill in the seats of the movie theater. so kevin designed a bunch of villains based on people in the studio.
Q: You said you based a villain on yourself named Nogoodnik. Can you point him out in a specific episode, like his exact location in a crowd? Is he one of the aforementioned mysterious costumed villains?
A: he's the guy with two big approval stamps for hands. (every week we have a design meeting and i stamp the approved drawings). the idea is that nogoodnik DISAPPROVES of everything. he's in the front row of villains at the convention center in operation ZERO.
5) Last year, a self-righteous media watchdog organization called Common Sense Media rated KND as not suitable for kids due to excessive violence and negative social messages. Did you expect this kind of criticism when creating an action-oriented show with messages that adults are evil? Have you ever considered creating characters for the show that parody these groups and their mentality?
A: everyone's entitled to their opinion- even if it's a self-righteous media watchdog organization opinion.
Q: Kenny from Kenny and the Chimp and Numbuh 30C look VERY similar. Are they in fact the same person?
A: some people think so. some people don't.
Q: What happened to Numbuh 30C? Was he kicked out of the KND for sabotaging Sector V's mission? Did he have to spend time in the Arctic Prison like Numbuh 4 in MISSION? Or was he seen as a hero because Sector V screwed up and were set to destroy a sno-cone facility and he tried to stop them? And does Numbuh 3 still think he's cool?
A: it was all a big misunderstanding... 30C was trying to stop them from destroying the sno-cone facility. and numbuh 30C DID seem to think he was pretty cool...
Q: Op: CAKED-FIVE showed that the KND has been around for over 100 years, but in COWGIRL, Lasso Lass never heard of it, and made it sound like the Cowboy Kids Club was the only kids' organization at the time. Were the KND and the CKC just not aware of each other, or was the KND in decline at the time?
A: um... lasso lass seems a bit in her own little world, dontcha think?
Q: Speaking of Lasso Lass, any chance we'll see her again?
A: hmmmmmmmm... doubt it. but you never know.
Q: Am I the first person to begin a question with "Speaking of Lasso Lass?"
A: you mean today?
Q: You've mentioned some of your favorite cartoons before. What are some of your favorite live-action shows?
A: i'm watching the first season of battlestar galactica right now and love love loving it.
Q: And finally, who's your pick to win the Super Bowl on Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts or the Chicago Bears?
A: they're playing AGAIN?!?
and there ya go! take care and thanks for writing!

Wow, I didn't expect straight answers for all of these. Interesting about The Iguana and the Big Idea. I remember references to Robert "The Iguana" Smith on the blog, so that kind of makes sense. I gotta keep my eyes out for Nogoodnik and his approval stamps of doom.
