Sorry to double-post, but im done with the story. err, its REALLY bad because im both tired, and rushed.
-------------
Blur of shock, embarrassment, and happiness flashed in his eyes when she asked him if he wanted to go on the roller coaster. Barite Stork had had a crush on Sector K's Virginia Simms since the moment he met her, and the fact that she was asking him made him completely forget how prone he was to motion sickness, especially rapid ups an downs.
"S-sure," he answered, smiling uneasily. His nervousness made the girl giggle, as she grabbed his hand and pulled him into line.
The pale sky stared down mysteriously at the pair, wrapped in a blanket of clouds. Chatter drowned out every sound, and the crowd continued to move up and down the walk.
"Ooh, Numbuh 35... I've been on this one a thousand times. You're gonna love it. I wanted to take everyone on this retreat on it..."
But she lost him there. So he wasn't special. He was one of many operatives on the Kids Next Door retreat who she asked onto the ride. It didn't come as much of a surprise however, he had always thought of her as too good for him; so for the rest of her speech about how much fun that they would have, he smiled, not listening, right through her.
"Here we go!" she squealed finally, sending a wave of sudden reality surging through Barite. They had move all the way up to the front of line, which was about a 25 minute wait, and he had been doing nothing the whole time. "Common!"
As the boy was pulled into the seat, he finally remembered. This could get ugly. "Numbuh 23, I think that-"
"Alright Passengers, Please Buckle Your Seatbelt And Keep All Hands And Feet Inside The Ride At All Times, And Enjoy Your Stay At The Park," called a muffled voice over the speaker. The seat belts went down, and the ride started up the hill.
Barite Stork took a deep breath in as he watched the ground get farther and farther away. His feet trembled lightly, and he didn't know why until he realized that the girl next to him was squeezing his wrist.
The voice: "Enjoy your ride"
Drop.
"AAAHHH!"
All of the passengers screams echoed though out his ears, but the ringing of fear was the loudest thing to Numbuh 35. He could nearly feel himself turning green, and the drop seemed to last forever.
He found himself in thought, 'Virginia is next to me. If I throw up, she'll never talk to me again. I can't throw up'.
The drop ended, and so suddenly, the cart was jerked upward. Barite puked.
----------------------------
"I'm so sorry," Virginia murmured, putting her arm around, the now sick to his stomach, Numbuh 35. "If I would have known- I am so sorry..."
"Don't be," burped the boy, terrified to meet her eyes. "My fault. I'm sorry."
"Here," she started, "Let me take you to... the soda bar."
"The soda bar?"
"Ya' know! The soda bar! Ginger-ale will make anything better. We should take you there right away," she sang, lighting up.
The boy frowned nervously, "Ginger-ale?" he asked, blinking a bit weakly.
"I know it's not the best soda, but common, you'll like it!" she shrieked, taking his arm carefully and uncertainly helping him walk.
When they arrived, the soda bar was near deserted. There was a skinny girl in a pink dress, a kid with a blue hat, and then some other people, who just looked like other faces in the crowd. The two etched to the counter, and peered over the table.
"What-ca-I-get-cha'?" asked a grubby soda bar tender. He frowned unwelcoming, and pulled out a cup.
"Ginger-ale," muttered Virginia, smiling weakly. "Please,"
"Whatever," he said, slamming a cup on the table and pulling a ginger-ale hose out to fill it.
The next few minutes were spent by Barite carefully sipping through a straw, and Virginia rubbing his back soothingly. She would periodically ask if he was alright, and he would nod sweetly. The best minutes of Numbuh 35's life.
After a while, the boy had regained his strength, and they were chatting wildly.
"And then my mom said that I couldn't ride my skateboard anymore, because it wasn't for "Young Ladies"" Virginia sneered, wiping the orange soda she had decided to get off of her lip.
"It's wrong. It is," Barite replied honestly.
Their eyes locked for the first time, and neither would look away. After at least 20 seconds of mindlessness, Virginia tore away.
"I've gotta go, Barite. It's getting late. I-I-I... gotta... go..." she stuttered, grabbing her bag.
His heart broke. The best day of his life was over.
"But I'd like to do this again," she went on, "It was real fun."
The boy smiled weakly, and she kissed him on the check. She ran out hurriedly, and he stayed put. Finally, with a huge smile on his face, he turned back to the soda bar tender.
"I need some more ginger-ale please."

Just a suggestion... Can the title of this thread be changed to "Soda Junkies Discussion" or something?
