1/5 vs. 1/Lizzie

My, my . . . . hopefully there won't be some serious arguments here ^^; I believe this thread is only like wanting to know how many supporters each pairing has. It's the battle of the number of supporters, not a battle of which is better ^^;

1/Lizzie is canon. That is so obvious. I dunno what's the problem of people who can't see it

Nigel and Lizzie . . . break-up? IMPOSSIBLE. Mr. W. said so. And besides, break-ups are more common to teens, not kid stuff ^^; And if ever there'll be a 1/Lizzie break-up, it must've been out of jealousy and it will be temporary and they'll still get together in the end. ^^;

I'm proud to be a 1/5 supporter, but I don't force for it to be cannon since (1) It ain't ever gonna happen and (2) Well, I like their relationship, just for fandom, what's bad in supporting it xD?

I honestly don't bash 1/Lizzie since I like it as well Lizzie just . . . scares and delights me at the same time but all those episodes that are centered on their relationship sure are entertaining ;D ;D ;D Hehe. Love 'em xD

Wait a minute, did Mr. Warburton actually say that they wouldn't break up? Sadness. True, utter sadness. *laughs* That was mean. But I am sad.

Anyways, obviously I chose 1/5. Why? Hm.. listing time!

1) I like 1/5.

2) I think they'd go better together since they seem to have more in common, and yet not completely the same.

3) I am not a fan of 1/Lizzie because I don't think it would really work out between the two.

Why?

1) Because I can!
2) Well, Numbuh 1 is one of those guys who is smart, brave, etc.. but yet he sometimes has no common sense. He's too involved in work. He panics every so often, and so he needs somebody to calm in down and lend him some common sense. Guess who steps in? Since Numbuh 5 is considered just as brave and smart, they seem to have something in common there. "Involveness" in the KND, which is something they both love. And since Numbuh 1 is a worry-wart and Numbuh 5 is laid-back, they make a great team. ;D Man, do I love 1/5 or what?

3) 1/Lizzie was a couple I thought would never work out in the end. And for some reason, I still have doubts. Numbuh 1 loves being in the KND, right? Thats pretty obvious. However Lizzie seems to be a distraction. I'm always picturing an episode, as many fics I've read have pointed out, that during a mission of some sort, Lizzie shows up and tries to convince him to spend more time with her. Something in that field. You see, to me, that seems very likely to happen. Kind of like Operation: DATE, except more serious. I don't know how to explain it. There just seems to be so much tension for Numbuh 1 between the KND and a girlfriend. Sure he's able ot balance it out now, but how much longer?

There's my confusing opinion.

@lizzie not in the KND-I think that it is good that she is not, for it makes Nigel take a break from the KND.

I don't want people to get confused to what I really like so I'll be explaining my reasons as well.

The choices are bet. 1/5 and 1/Lizzie.

I chose 1/5.

Why?

1) Their leader and subordinate relationship reminds me of Roy and Riza, a couple I highly support from the anime Full Metal Alchemist. Well, ya know, with all those concerns of Abby for her superior ^^;
2) From op. HOME, Abby and Nigel, for me, acted like Kuki's parents in the threehouse xD I find it cute xD
3) I love it when these two argue!!!! like in op. COLLEGE. So cute and hilarious! Wahehehe xD They're a funny pair

But do I dislike 1/Lizzie?

heck! . . .NO!!!!!!

Why?

1) They're actually a funny pair. I cannot ever deny that I didn't enjoy the episodes centered on their relationship. 1/Lizzie rocks! ;D
2) Lizzie likes Nigel. Nigel likes Lizzie. Why break them apart? And besides, it's Canon. End of Story.

Then why did I pick 1/5 instead 1/Lizzie?

Simple. I just like 1/5 better.

But what if 1/362 is there?

OF COURSE I'LL PICK THAT ONE!!!! I'm a big supporter of 1/362! That's my favorite Nigel pairing xD And for this reason I've started to like 2/5 more than 1/5 (well, of course not only that, op. I.T. had also brought out the 2/5ness in me. For me, 2/5 is definitely more hilarious than 1/5 xD Wahahahaha! They crack me up! What more if I get to see op. CLOWN? OMG!!! xD)

And on the other hand, that makes perfect sense. Until I reached the end. Thats where my head fell off from confusion. ;D I'm a very lost person.

Of course I agree. 1/Lizzie is very cute, and the fact that its canon abuses my heart in a good way. I love how Lizzie gets jealous very easily (HOLIDAY), and I love how there's tension in the relationship. Not because I'm not a fan of Lizzie. Thats the reason why I don't hate it. Its so funny how Lizzie yells at him (LUNCH), and yet Numbuh 1 sticks with her. And how she interferes with the KND stuff (DATE) and he still sticks with her. Can you say, "dedication"?

Thats the real reason why I don't not like 1/Lizzie. Because of conflict. Thats the reason I like 1/5, thats the reason why I like 3/4, 2/86, and all of these adorible couples! Heck, thats the reason I don't hate 2/5.

Am I weird or what?

I see more romance between Nigel and Lizzie than Nigel and Abby. Nigel and Abby seem too brother-sisterly for me to be comfortable with pairing them up.

If I HAD to pick a different Nigel ship however, I might pick 1/362. But I'll ALWAYS be a 1/Lizzie shipper at heart ^^

If it means what I think it means...well, yes. Sometimes canon couples will shift over the course of a show. I can't deny that. But 1/Lizzie has not gotten 'screwed over' yet, nor does the relationship seem to be on the rocks. Don't jump to conclusions.

The fact that the 1/Lizzie episodes have several strikes strikes AGAINST the couple, and then a few for it. LEADER, for example.

Against

1) Lizzie going behind Nigel's back.
2) Lizzie flirting with another boy to get her way.
3) Lizzie is mean to Nigel's friends (she shuts down their opinions and tells them to "shut up!" on a few occasions, which obviously offends the others)
4) Lizzie deliberately lies to Nigel.

For

1) Lizzie apologizes.
2) Nigel forgives her.

Of course, you could very well call me biased on the matter, but I honestly didn't see any pro-1/Lizzie besides those two.

To me, those strikes against it seem to be rather large ones, ones that I certainly wouldn't ignore as a relationship-participant. If I couldn't trust my partner even after giving them several chances, I probably would break up with him. The fact that the 1/Lizzie hasn't directly faced these strikes against them (they never mention Lizzie's behavior toward Nigel's friends or try to amend it, nor do they try to address Lizzie's lack of faith in Nigel) makes it seem unrealistic to me. And I know this isn't supposed to be about realism, but I like couples I can relate to (like Liz/Takeshi from IGPX), so I'm just explaining why I don't buy 1/Lizzie.

Not resolving some of the conflicts 1/Lizzie have falls under my interpretation of 'getting screwed over' (because those resolutions could be done in a more productive way than the standard 'Lizzie-does-something-crazy-Nigel-forgives-her-anyway'). It was also quite unfair to have barely a mention of 1/Lizzie in ZERO when it was a momentuous KND event, not to mention a vital part of Nigel's life.

Hmmm . . .I think Lizzie's negative attitude towards the KND and Nigel's friends are simply because of jealousy ^^; Nigel, being a workaholic, consumes too much of his time to KND stuff . . . . so his girlfriend, being pretty possessive, will of course be jealous xD

And they're kids after all. Jealousy is overreacted ^^;

There's also DATE and HOLIDAY, and bits of RECESS...but really, this is ridiculous. I am fed up with Lizzie bashing, truth be told, and it seems like threads like this always lead up to it. Nigel's "mature enough" to determine whether or not he likes her enough to continue dating her, not to mention he can see her flaws for himself, and it doesn't seem to have changed his mind about her.

So, 1/Lizzie, and I wash my hands of this and all "VS" threads.
