Pfft, this thread is begging to be flamed. XD I'm choosing 1/Lizzie. Why? 1) It's canon.
2) No, they're not going to break up any time soon. *points to RECESS*
3) They are compatible, people.
4) I happen to think it's a really, really cute couple. And 1/5 still strikes me as OOC. Or, at least, the fandom's perception of it. And no, I don't want this to turn into wank. |

I find it rather rather amusing that a lot of you would choose 1/362 over 1/5. But this isn't 1/362 vs 1/5.
1/5 all the way. Why?
1) 1/5's not canon. Canon couples very often get screwed over (pardon my language), 1/Lizzie included.
2) I don't see much faith and trust in 1/Lizzie, which is a big problem for me.
3) I can't relate to 1/Lizzie. At all.
4) I think a 1/Lizzie breakup would make for some SERIOUS character development. Character development makes me happy.

1/Lizzie, definetly.
As other people have said, They canon, and they are happy together and doesn't seem to be breaking up anytime soon.
My alternative to 1/Lizzie would be either 1/86 or 1/362.

I prefer 1/5 to both 1/Lizzie AND 1/362 -Dodges bricks- And I always have, and for the exact same reasons Numbuh 16 has presented above. I'm not into 1/362 because I haven't seen any of the episodes that hint at the pairing yet, but if I do I might end up liking it -Shrugs- Especially number 4 on the list. A breakup between 1 and Lizzie would totally be this, like, character landmark in the series. Like Wendy and Stan from South Park XDD Well, not really. Still, it makes for a nifty episode idea and to be honest...I've never been that fond of Lizzie...I have this thing with pairing characters together based on how much I like them, which is why I sometimes suggest pairings that were never even hinted at. Because that's just how much I like both the characters. |

Lizzie clearly likes him, he clearly likes her. And them together is adorable.
Also, 1/5 is unimaginable to me, I hadn't even known anyone could consider the possibility before I joined this forum.

and, besides 2/5, you can like 1/5 ...that's not a reason to 'not support 1/5 at least for 5 seconds' or maybe yes, it is...but ...eerrr..i like 1/5 more XD

~it's kinda obvious that the leader is the only one that has a girlfriend if you think it a little bit, even, I have a theory 'why nigel has Lizzie as girlfriend'
~as ex-1/3 fan, I have to say, numbah 1 was like one of my favorites, as numbuh 5 (thinking it well...nothing related to 1/3...ok, ignore that)

1/ Lizzie. Can't picture 1/5, I like 1/ Lizzie as a couple on the show, plus 5 would be better paired with 2 in my opinion ;D.

While I could possibly see where Nigel/Abby fans are coming from, I'd have to say Nigel/Lizzie. It's not only the canon aspect -- after all, it's nice to see it on-screen and supported, and there's less "work" needed to get it done in fanfics (but you still gotta be sure to stay IC as much as possible, not saying OOC is acceptable as long as it's a canon pairing!), but like was said before it's also in danger of getting screwed up, like any canon pairing of a tv show/comic/manga. But also because I find it cute, and funny. And pretty much any other positive thing that is said about it. And Nigel is totally whipped.  |

Sometimes canon couples will shift over the course of a show. I can't deny that. But 1/Lizzie has not gotten 'screwed over' yet, nor does the relationship seem to be on the rocks. Don't jump to conclusions. Uh, it's not development if you're making it up. You clearly want this - a 1/Lizzie break up - to happen, so you justify it by saying that it would add character development. That's simply unfair. Example: It would be character development for the rest of Sector V if Nigel got shot through the heart. But you don't want that to happen...though it would put an end to 1/Lizzie. See? Anything can be development, so you shouldn't use your preferred scenario as an excuse to promote the destruction of a canon couple. I would like to hear this theory, actually. |

Just my theory, but I'm assuming how the creators would, say, suddenly break them up in one episode because of something dumb, or bring out some new character and have one person of the couple fall for the new one (and causing the break-up) because the creators/viewers are "tired of the old couple" or some such thing. Or any other event that causes some heated riff between them and/or causes any future fanfics with them to be very difficult to write. Still liking Nigel/Lizzie regardless, though.  |
