Dare I mention that you can't 'drop' like that in space? The most logical place for the cake to be would be L1 (Lagrange point 1 of the Moon/Earth system) and if you were to let go there you'd either stay there or move to either the Moon or the Earth at a very very small acceleration.
Even in Earth orbit there wouldn't be a drop. You'd get some orbit degradation, yes, but not a plumment.
So Newton conspires from beyond the grave to save Nigel. Ha! Take that character basher!

Speaking of Nigel- he didn't seem too happy about the 86/19th Century romancin'- in fact, I think he said something about 'throwing up' or something along those lines. Odd, since he and Lizzie have done much 'mooshier' things than holding hands.
Then again, it could've merely been his annoyance at their bickering.

Actually you can survive a short exposure to vacuum (think 2001) so that's not that big of a problem (remember, KND actually has them wear spacesuits in SATURN). Besides since the cake just fell apart they should have been in a considerable mass of air (in the centre of it, in fact) and so if you think about it should have a small amount of time in a more or less survivable enviroment.
And freezing wouldn't be much of a problem. The fact that you suffocate, your blood boils and your lungs turn into paste is much more problematic. Paradoxically, sunburn might also be a problem. However studies at NASA give an unprotected human 10-15 seconds of useful consciousness and they were in a mass of air so...all in all it checks out, gigant cake 'n' all. ;D

And as for it being a bit rushed, I do recall Cree and Hoagie being a bit rushed as well from K.I.S.S (even though they aren't going out and such) X3. So it isn't anything new to me. I didn't like 2/Cree either. I just.. don't. |

I think Numbuh 2 and Cree is really cute. Also I wished 19th century could have gotten with Numbuh 86.
