It's kinda... both. Slash AND not Slash.
Technically, it's slash since Heiny was always a girl. But psycholocially, Heiny was male for a good portion of his life, and most of the years as a girl were pre-memory (up to age 3 or so).

Ooo! I just thought of some interesting dialogue I could put in Time Warp (if I ever feel up to writing it again...and it would be thread-exclusive this time) to explain 1) Why Future Heiny's a guy and 2) How Leo and Carmy (not my official nickname for my spawn, but it's shorter to write) reacted to finding out their daddy used to be a girl. ;D
Who knew gender-bending could open up so many possibilites?

You know, now we have a new song. Loves Me Not by TATU totally works for this now! Only instead of 2 different people, Heiny is both the she AND the he. Let us dissect. (I'll spoiler so you can skip it) I complicated our lives by falling in love with him
Abby falls for Heinrich (male), and that would certainly complicate things once he is a she again.
I complicated our lives now I'm losing my only friend
Maybe not her ONLY friend, but probably her longest friend, possibly best friend.
I don't know why, I had to try living my life on the other side
Not that the "other side" was intentional. It was just kinda there for 5 years.
Now I'm so confused I don't know what to do
Self-explanitory.
He loves me, He loves me not
She loves me, She loves me not

The fun part. Abby wonders if Heiny might have loved her if she stayed a he, if she might still care now that she's a she again, if she should feel that way for another girl, and all that fun stuff.

Flirting as in CHOCOLATE and LICORICE would be crossing the line. Acting like Heinrich really is a boy, because the real her was never there.

Who could she talk to? Her sister? They hate each other. Her friends? How could they understand? They're already freaked out by Heiny being a girl. Her best friend? That's who she's having these confusing feelings for.
It's almost like I don't even know myself

Stay friends? Try to be more? Just give up and avoid being hurt?

XD I know. Poor pirate.
You know, the main problem we had with this girl thing was that we miscalculated WHEN it happened. We all seemed to assume it took place only a few months, maybe a year ago.
Still... why would Heiny join up with a bunch of pirates? Actually, nevermind. Probably couldn't go home.
Then again, who grounded him for a month?
And why would the authorities care about the caramels? He didn't STEAL them.
And what business could Abby have been on? Her second mission in the KND was only 3 years ago. It doesn't take even a year to train cadets, so that couldn't be it.
Conclusion: it makes more sense, but less than required.

Haven't really started it yet. I still need to rewatch all the Heiny eps. And that little blip comic I had an idea for turned into a full-on one-shot that I just HAVE to draw.
