Wooh. I had a TOUGH day.
OK, so I'm sitting in my chair on the computer. Then this man and woman walk up to my front door (I can see them because the computer office looks into the front porch. And I heard them say something along the lines of "Yeah, when I hit her she rolled over a few times" And I knew my dog was outside. So basically I figured they had hit Nikki(my dog). I was scared sh*tless, and I ran out to the driveway, expecting to find Nikki lying dead on the side of the road. I went to the driveway, and saw Nikki standing there. So I was extremely relieved. The man and woman saw me and explained what happened. She HAD gotten hit by a truck. She ran out into the road chasing a biker. Then man saw her run across, and hit the breaks, but she still got hit, and rolled over a few times. She got back up though, and went back to my driveway. The woman there had been driving in the opposite direction and saw everything. They were both waiting there because they didn't just want to leave her on the driveway, because 1) They would feel terrible and 2) hit and run on dogs is illegal. So I called my mom and they called the police and animal control. The police man came over and interviewed the truck driver and the woman. And my mom came and took Nikki to the vet to be examined (She didn't seem too bad, just had a few limps, but she decided she should make sure there weren't any bad internal wounds) When she got back from the vet, she appeared to be fine. Just a little bit bruised, and we're supposed to watch her carefully now.
I'm amazed that she managed to survive that. She's almost 12 years old, and she barely had a scratch (And she still acts like her fiesty old self)
But man, when I thought she was dead on the road I was panicked. I'm glad I actually didn't see her get hit, even though she turned out OK, just seeing her get hit woulda scarred me for life.
Well, I can't say that today was uneventful....

Wow, I'm speechless. I'm glad your dog is okay, I know what it's like to lose a pet.
I lost my cat in 7th Grade.

@cap'n Veg:
Damn, I think I'd know how you feel if you thought your dog got hurt like that. I always worry about my cats because they're outdoor cats and they don't feel like sticking around the backyard. I'm glad your dog's okay, though.

Another wave of eons to come before he finishes the battle with midterm madness. Ah, insanely as he can be, everyone misses him. @ Amos ZOMGYOUREVEALEDMYEVERSOWEIRDREALLIFENICKNAME! Hello. OH YAH we won in round 1 in chess. Our team is on to get pummeled by the Seniors tomorrow. They are a force of good chess skills. Darn. @cap'n Veg So glad to know your dog's OK! Frightening, to say the least. I know how scary and traumatic that is. My first cat, Fuzzball, got hit by a car a year ago. I didn't see it happen...but I found her right outside the entrance to our neighborhood. I got her off the street before another car could mangle her. That was one of the worst experiences of my life. That's why I won't let Phantom outside. The few times he managed to get out, he wouldn't go beyond our yard. But still. I ain't taking ANY chances. @kcg Those are sooper! Wow.
