Did Cree Summers and Rachel MacFarlane specifically request to have their names put on them?
Mr. W had no idea what to name them and just put their names as a last option?
Mr. W approached the voice actresses and asked them their opinions?

No, they both are named after the VAs. I don't know why, but I reckon it's cute.

If Numbuh's 1-5 were named after there VAs. Numbuh 1,2-Benjamin Numbuh 3-Lauren Numbuh 4-De Bradley Numbuh 5-Cree (same name as her sister) Anywway Charecters and designs are done before doing the voices I think.

Bradley the Skunk was probably named after Dee Bradley Baker, and he may or may not be the skunk's VA. I don't remember.

You know.....maybe the characters might even look like their VA!
Like 1 and 2's VA, Ben Disker, may be a bald, fat plane lover, numbuh 3 may have an adopted Japanese sister and her hairdo, De Bradley might be an animal lover (or KNOW someone who's an animal lover) who was pretty short as a kid, and Cree summer (she used to be an actor for a sitcom...I forgot its name, but she was one of the stars in it)....well, she's black, she DOES look like Cree (THAT'S why they named her after the character), but if you braid her hair and get her to wear a cap, she will look like Abby.
As for Jason Harris, he would PROBABLY have looked like Chad back in his high school days.
I'll go do some research.

Anywway Charecters and designs are done before doing the voices I think. That's usually the case though I doubt its true in KND. Tom and Mo have, IIRC, said that they make up some things as they go. Codename: Kids Next Door was first announced in a comic published by DC, in a story where the DC read profiles of Numbuhs One thru Five. Its amazing to read that--and Tom has said this comic is based on the original series bible--and see just how much it contradicts the show we have no (Abby was nearsighted and never talked, Kuki could only speak Japanese, Numbuh One was a coward, etc.)

Interesting theories everyone. Still, the question burns. Anyone would mind ask this particular question to the man himself?

IMO, I think Cree deserved a little "name branding." She's been in so many cartoons over the years, not to mention she's even released her own music album. She's a woman of many talents, so I think it's pretty cool that she's finally playing a character named after her. That's not to downplay Rachel's accomplishments at all. Ironically, I did Miss Macfarlane's bio research, she was born in a town about 20-25 minutes away from where I live. If anyone's ever in the area, I'll give the "362 tour" and show you the hospital where she was born many years ago. Rachel Macfarlane is also a great voice actress, so I think it's nice that she also gets a little treat. Of course, this isn't to say that the other VAs involved with the show don't deserve that kind of recognition, I just think it's much easier to incorporate with background characters like Cree and Rachel who don't appear in every episode. Of course, I'm certainly not Mr. W, so I don't proclaim to know the "story" as to why their given names were used for their characters, but it seems like a very nice gesture to me.

I think Cree's character is the coolest because it matches almost perfectly with her VA. Cree Summer has the same hair as Cree Lincoln, as well as the same voice (duh..) and personality. Of course, I've never met Cree Summer, but by pictures, I somehow got that impression. XD

Cree was named Cree because she was based off of her voice actor. Don't ask me about Numbuh 362.

Hmm, interesting hypthesis there, that Rachel MacFarlane may have something in common with Rachel McKenzie other than her voice, it makes me want to see some detailed interviews with the stars of the show and dig into their inner secrets.
