Well I used to watch it when the new episodes came out. Now it became cancelled. What a shame. Also it became boring. Haruka and Michiru are not cousins, you know. Everybody knows that. Well that's the best I can make.

Hm... I agree with what a lot of things that people said, except for one:
Numbuh 2 and comedies.
I personally think that just because a person likes to crack jokes doesn't mean they automatically like comedies, just like if a person is Japanese, it doesn't mean they'll like anime. Particularly, Numbuh 2's one-liners would belong a lot more in an action flick or a superhero cartoon than a comedy. He probably does appreciate humor in a movie or show, so I can see him watching, like... Jackie Chan movies or something. However, I don't seem him really interested in comedies. He seems to me as more of an action type of guy.
And Numbuh 3, if she does like anime, it's probably the really kiddie ones, like Hamtaro and Hello Kitty. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Numbuh 3 watches Hamtaro because, in Op. GHOST, Numbuh 5 suggested that Numbuh 3 go watch those "hamster shows she likes so much", and I couldn't help but say, "Like Hamtaro...?" But she probably wouldn't like most anime (like Inuyasha) because they tend to be bloody.

Its pretty straightfoward so far. Thing is, is they could really watch anything. Ofcourse everyone has a certain type they'd tend to like more I guess though.. The most sensible things have already been said, but I'll try a few things.. You know 2's probably watched a fair share of mecha anime, it seems like something he'd like. More serious ones like Macross, Evangelion, and some of the UC Gundam series's are more grounded, but you can't say that he wouldn't pick up a perchant for bad puns watching things like Gundam Wing, or the really old school Super Robot types of things. Some mecha anime just screams overkill on macho one liners sometimes. I think people facinated by car mechanics, or airplane mechans, and giant robots tend to go hand in hand. Some mecha anime's got some great storylines for that intellectual side, while some others are just..lets blow up lots of stuff! Which is perfect for that other side that craves that. 5 is pretty difficult, but I think she'd like actually.. the type of movie that has a heroine get swept off her feet into either a fantastic romantic type of thing, or a great adventure. I know its something that doesn't suit her personality at first, but in life the types of people (male or female) that tend to be very competent and multi talented like 5 tend to like that kind of story. I think its because usually they're so used to being in control of situations, that they tend to be facinated by things that deal with a situation where maybe you can't be in control. So...there. Thats my overanalyzation for the day. But can't judge a book by its cover can you? For all we know, 4 has a secret thing for certain types of cutsie movies or shows deep down. I do agree, that just because Kuki's Japanese doesn't mean she has to like anime. Being Japanese myself (half actually) I know the frustration from that sometimes. lol I like anime, but I'm very selective with it. I think some anime's fantastic, and a great deal of the rest irks me quite a bit, so I think I'm hardly die hard. But anyways, Kuki also does seem like the type that would like that stuff though. Since she comes from Japan she's probably got a great deal of move for many things like that. Card Captor and that sort of thing. And yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of Inuyasha either. It has its moments, but Rumiko Takahashi has this habbit of making her characters have these almost annoying mood swings that suddenlly come out of nowhere. Like Inuyasha will suddenlly save everyone all by himself (like usual) and everyone will be greatful, but then they suddenlly all start hitting and insulting him out of nowhere just because Kagome has yet another annoying burst of unprovoked anger because Inuyasha actually has feelings of his OWN. lol Talk about ungreatful, Ranma was the same way.. Her storylines also kind of tend to keep you going towards this goal you never reach, but maybe I'm bagging a little too much on it. I do watch it a bit anyways. But its not my favorite thing. Getting off topic here, sorry about that.

My favorite Animes are Sailor Moon, CCSakura (Actually, I don't like the Anime. I like the Manga books better), Tenchi Muyo..and thats it.

I do agree, that just because Kuki's Japanese doesn't mean she has to like anime. I know I'm just the silly little jewish white girl that obsesses over Japan / Japanese / Anime, but I was always under the impression that, to be technical, to say that you are an "anime fan" in Japan would be akin to "I'm an action fan" or "I'm a romance fan!" That's how my Japanese teacher put it, anyway: She only came over to the states two years ago, and the only manga she's ever read are her brother's old Shonen Jump and the only anime she's seen are the stuff *everyone* seems to have seen. Why? Because it was on! *cough* on topic, now. Numbah 1 -- Documentaries. Serious stuff like that. Also, action movies. I can just picture him watching "The Matrix" (even though he's too old, it's a good example) and just being "Ooooh, cool..." I mean, check out his section of REPORT and the way he acted in his section of THE FLY... Numbah 2 -- I have no idea. Oh, wait -- half the shows on The Discovery Channel seem to be written with him in mind "Awesome Ariplanes," "World's Greatest Helicopters," that sort of thing. Also, Jackie Chan movies DO seem to be his sort of thing -- action with a little humor. Plus -- of course -- Detective movies. Numbah Three -- Simplistic, Animated, With Decent Music. Disney movies, cartoons, maybe anime (but not like Sailor Moon -- I'm thinking Hamtaro -- cute with not much else). I doubt she's too picky, as long as it's cute, happy, upbeat, and animated. ^^ Numbah Four -- Eh, action movies. Horror movies maybe. The sort of thing that he'd think "tough kids" watch. Also, he's a DBZ fan. ^^ (*waves flag*) Numbah Five -- I think intelligant humor, action. More plot then effects for her. And the pink panther movies for some reason. Perhaps other old movies too... I honestly have no idea. ^^;;;

While its true that animation in japan has a different place in society in Japan as it does here, it is still seen in general as animation, its own thing. What she was probably referring to is that animation isn't generally seen as something totally dedicated to young children. Don't get me wrong, you can't tell me Digimon is aimed at an older audience. XD Even though its enjoyable by older people too, to an extent. But some shows are dedicated to different age groups, but no matter what are seen as animation, its own thing. What I'm talking about more is the anime fanatics that put all existence and meaning into it. There's also the new breed of fanatic thats mostly come from here in the U.S., that see liking anime as something ...sophisticated and different, and end up gaining this attitude that everything that comes from Japan is superior and shouldn't be questioned, and that all Japanese people act the same way. Thing people have to remember is Japanese society is just as loose and full of exceptions as US culture and society. It gets a little strange that so many tend to think they know me or other Japanese people perfectly because they've studied our culture. Its like our individual humanistic traits mean nothing. lol I don't rag on people for liking something a little further, but it can get a little aggrevating when someone is basically stereotyped completely based off of things seen in animation and minor bits of study. Hell, same thing happens to Americans over in Japan, makes it no less vexxing. This isn't aimed at anyone here or anything, its just something general. So I'd say I appreciate it, which most do, as opposed to worshiping it as something perfect and flawless...which I don't think it is. I'm getting waay off topic so terribly sorry about that.

Ai, I hope I don't sound like I'm getting anal now. It doesn't really bug me that much, its just something thats there. But I don't want people to think that you have to watch what you say around me now. lol
Oh um, to stay on topic, would Kuki like something like ....Pokemon or something along those lines? Not just the show, but the whole deal. I know its a bit obvious but well, you know.
I guess Rainbow Monkey's could be a very light parody of it in a way.
