Couldn't find a thread about this, so here goes.
When the show started, I think 95% of the viewers thought that Numbuh 1 was the head of KND. Then came season two, and things become a lot more complicated. We were introduced to Numbuh 86 who highly outranked Nigel, and we also saw even higher ranking operatives like N274 (Chad) and N3XX (don't remember correctly). Throughout the show tiny bits of information were presented about the organisation, making it almost impossible for one person to get a clear view. So I would like to ask the people in the forum to share their knowledge. Perhaps we can find out more together.
Most important questions: - Do numbers represent any kind of rank in any way? - Who's the boss? I read that some people think it might be that N3whatever girl, but isn't she only the head of the moon base? (Taking the job from Chad.) - What on Earth is Global Command? (It was mentioned a few times, but did the show provide any details?)
Any other info would also be greatly appreciated.
(If there IS a thread about this, I would also be really happy if someone could give me the link.)

These are all very good questions, and to start off answering I'd like to say not everything is still clear about KND and how the whole system works, however I should be able to answer your questoins.
First off, no I don't believe their numbers signify any ranking of the operatives in the Kids Next Door. However, it does seem that the ones with higher numbers seem to be more highly ranked, i.e. Numbuh 274, and Numbuh 362.
Second, the head of the KND is indeed Numbuh 362, the blonde-haired girl. Also, she did not take the job from Chad, she has always been the head of KND, Chad was just the best and most skilled operative they had (although there is also some question to the validity of this)
Lastly, Global Command is another name for the Kids Next Door Moon Base, which is basically KND headquarters and the base of its operations, and is located on, of course, the moon. It is here where most of the highly ranked operatives reside, i.e. Numbuh 362 and Numbuh 86.
On a related note, I'd like to explain to the best of my ability and knowledge basically how the Kids Next Door operates. First, there is the KND headquarters on the moon, where all the KND rules and operations are regulated, and where all the special operatives are held. Now there are also several various Kids Next Door bases on Earth. Each base handles a certain section of the Earth, i.e. there is one for France, Japan, America, Egypt, etc. And each base fights against adult tyranny in their section, and in this way the KND can fight against it wherever and whenever it might happen.
So to summarize, in a way, the Kids Next Door are a lot like a global police force, except for kids. As said before, there is still a lot that is unclear about the Kids Next Door and how it operates, but this should give you a pretty good idea as to how it works.

oooh, i know, i know!
a lot of this info is from tom's various emails, so bear with me if i misremember something.
the numbuhs do NOT represent rank. they are just chosen by the operatives for personal reasons.
362 (the girl you couldn't remember) is in charge of all KND. (tom's said she is,,, high commander or something? i can't quite remember without looking it up)
i think global command is probably 362 and her direct staff - whoever's really in charge of the organization, yeah?
on another note, i must say that the whole organization of the KND and all the different aspects of, uh, it. XD there's the moonbase, the artic base, any others? and the artic base can't exist for JUST training - what else do you think goes on there? is 60 (as my theory goes) in charge?
OMG THE QUESTIONS!

I think the Arctic base isn't only for training, but probably storage area or where they put bigger guns of sorts. Maybe it is just a training area. And yes, 60 does seem like he's incharge of that particular area.

Yes I agree that it seems Numbuh 60 is the head of the Arctic Base. There were also the Numbuh 44 twins in T.R.A.I.N.I.N.G. who may be his subordinates.

The arctic base could also have another purpose,
like say maybe backing up the moonbase when its in trouble? I got this idea from training. But moonbase could also send for aid from any sector see its for the KNDs own benefit....and it could be that the arctic base is just main backup.....
So many questions left unawnsered...hmmmm

It is proven in the show that the kids can pick any numbuh they want to be there codename. They can even choose numbuhs other kids already have or letters. So rank does not effect what numbuh you have. However, we have seen other sectors where the agents are grouped together by there numbuhs, so it may be tradition that your sector can choose a series of consecutive numbuhs and the highest ranking officer gets the first numbuh.

hehe ^_^ No. 362 was not always above 274. Before chad turned 13, She was the best SPY in the KND. She was an excellent operative, and has lots of experience, and since chad had to be kicked out, She was elected as the next leader. She is now leader in global command. Global command is the top operatives on the Moonbase, They keep everything in the KND running smoothly ;D
The Arctic base Trains all new Cadets, Stores tons of weapons and 2x4 technology, and is home to the KND Army. The Moon base has all the technicall stuff, all the soopah computers and smart-guys, the decommision rooms, and the code module / graduating thing. In Operation Training, The Codemodule was moved from the moonbase to be hidden on the Arctic base, so the army could guard it. The Numbuhs 44 arn't really 60's sidekicks.. They are the official guards for the Codemodule. They go wherever it goes. (*at least, that's my theory-- they were also seen guarding it on the Moonbase)
I also think that the Arctic base backs up the moonbase, whenever they need it, but they also back up whoever else needs it (Operation Graduates, for example) 60 is the Army's general, And he trains every KND Membuh that joins. Whoo. If 274 was hard to decommission.. just think how hard 60 will be, when he turns 13! ;D
I agree with you guys though, Since you are able to pick your own Numbuhs when you graduate into the KND, i don't really think they mean anything-- rank wise. I think that if you are indecisive about what numbuh to pick, They pick it for you. And they place you in the closest sector to your home & school

Thank you very much for the valuable infos.
Here are my thoughts: Your reasoning about the insignificance of the numbers seems completely rational, but there are some things opposing this theory:
- As Saberlock already pointed out the operatives of different sectors in France, Japan etc. have closely related numbers. - In Tako's site it is said about Chad that "His parents are rather upset, though, because he's Numbuh 274 when they think he deserves to be Numbuh 1." (I don't know when this was mentioned in the show.) However this might only be because of the fact that being Numbuh 1 certainly sounds a lot cooler than being Numbuh 274.
One more question pops into my mind: What is this Code Module everyone wants to steal?

A code module is a kind of a circle-like autograph book (EX. from Training) that has a genetic computer that you can put your booger in that system to pick any numbuh or letter. Also it puts your code in that system. But most of all, it would be permanent/temporary. If you turned 13 in the KND, you will be decommissioned and your booger will be thrown out of that system. In Graduates, Tommy hack the code module to let Father in and the DC in the KND because Tommy quits the KND and he decided to work alone. Father would have get the code module if he wanted to hack the system. In Graduates, Father tweak the KND super computer in his own system to make the KND turn into animals. After training, your graduation starts. You can pick any numbuh or letter to name your codename. It lets you where to serve the kids in your area.
That's all I know for now. If you want more about this, maybe Numbuh 87 will explain to you easily.

A few days ago, I actually e-mail Mr. Warburton and asked him about the KND structure, this is what he said in reply:
"numbuhs don't really signify rank. it just so happens that sector V has the numbuhs 1-5. numbuh 274 WAS supreme commander and now 362 has taken over. but rumour has it that that are even higher ranks than that! hopefully one day we'll meet them!"

WOW!!! Now that's interesting. I can't wait till, or I hope see them, some day. And 274 really did used to be the head of KND? Hmm, I always thought 362 was the head. Well I learned something new! ;D

I'm just curious about how Tommy stole the DC and Father's boogers to put them into the Code Module? Or could he have done it WITHOUT the boogers?
