Ugg... the new logo is very destracting! It's big.... And the vioce thing is annoying too! Why did they replace all that? And I have a stupid question. is this the reason the Cartoon Orbit is down or something? I couldn't get into it yesterday.

How about the remarks after the shows? Once it was talking about Jackie Chan when the credits for Billy & Mandy was on, then it said "Pokemon is up next on Cartoon Network." POINTLESS!

Yeah, I agree that it's pretty pointless, but it's not the big problem. The big problem is the stuff that is not only pointless but obstructive. For example, the more opaque CN logo, which is also really distracting and makes it impossible to read some text (like the names of KND 2x4 technology)) or the splitting up of shows (I fear it will become like Kids WB, which splits stuff up like that too. I first noticed it happening in Miguzi. It's so annoying. One big commercial break is much more convenient. You can read a bit, or go to the bathroom, or do your homework, but if the break is so short, it makes it impossible or inconvenient to take the time to do such a thing.). I also hate when they advertise other shows during the one I'm watching, like when the Cartoon Network logo turned into a distracting, NOISY blue thing to advertise new Star Wars episodes coming up in several HOURS. Okay, advertising after the show is not very good, but during the show, and ADDING SOUND is the worst idea I've ever heard of. |

I'm not a fan either. It's one thing for it to be there and be big and tranlusent, but the this is big and solid. Usually it's light so you can see it but your still able to view the bottom rightside of your televison. Ah well, if they get enough complaints they'll change it.

Yeah, I don't like the bug, either. And I definitely don't like the extra commercial breaks (I think I mentioned this before but I don't remember) for pretty much the same reasons Tako said. Plus, some shows weren't meant to have extra breaks - examples The Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans, Ed Edd 'n' Eddy, and of course, Codename: Kids Next Door. This is more noticable in TT and KND. In KND, right after the title screen the black marker zooms out and it immediately shows the first episode showing. It doesn't do that anymore; plus when it goes back from break, you can BARELY hear the very end of the opening music (I sometimes noticed this when watching the Saturday and Sunday showings) -- which confirms that yep, wasn't meant to be this way.
*sigh* Cartoon Network should have announced this rather then have this come right out of nowhere and abruptly. They shoulda put somewhere in their website what we'd think of the new format so we can say our thoughts.

Sorry to bump this up but I've something semi-important to say. After watching GROW-UP Saturday morning, it was the straw that broke this teen's back. Just like I thought, the extra commercial breaks has affected the show (and any other show not meant to have extra breaks) more than CN probably realized it would. As you might have seen, it had a commercial in places where they wasn't originally a commercial (you can plainly see that before and after the break). Also, you remember when the special ending music starts as End Transmission shows? Where the music and screen fades to black for a moment then comes back to the credits a moment later. Yeah it returned; but it disrupted the flow of the music, which is kind of a turn off. -_- (That fading thing also happens at the end of certain episodes, when before as End Transmission is entered, it goes instantly to the ending credits.) And I'm sure you guys remember when FOUNTAIN aired, the one-two second moment of black screen, which was probably where the commercial may have been were it not Cartoon Network Fridays. (That also happened with the PPG episode, "Aspirations.") I now really can't stand the new commercial format anymore. I heavily wish CN revert back to its original, especially because of what I said above. (Note I'm not just complaining because of KND but ALL shows that weren't meant to have other commercial breaks, and there's a TON.) It seems only Adult Swim is not affected, for some reason...  Anyway, I say we complain, since it seems a lot of people here don't like it either. Even if it might not work we can at least get this off our chest. Here's one place we might do that. www.cartoonnetwork.com/gen/help/index.html But remember, don't flame, state it as nicely as possible; they may be more willing to listen that way. There might be better places to tell how we feel but that's all I can see so far. Also, I think this quote may sum it all up: "Don't fix what isn't broken." |

Okay, I'm going to go complain. Also, um... I've noticed that recently, CN has been showing mixed KND episodes. I wondered, "Hm, how do they handle the credits then?" I watched three mixed episodes, and all three of them had credits for SPANK/DATE, but not a single one of the operations were Op. SPANK or Op. DATE. Is this something that's been happening to shows recently or has it been happening for a long time to a lot of shows, and I just didn't notice?

Apparently it's just KND; I've been noticing this for months. Why they show mixed episodes during the weekdays, I don't know. Apparently only the Saturday showings show KND right.

I know. It's so annoying having to sit through a commercial break between the theme song and the actual show.  And you're right about the FOUNTAIN thing. I noticed that too. It almost ruined a great episode for me. I'm also gonna complain about the CN symbol in the lower-right hand corner. Most of the time, I can't see the last letters of a KND vehicle there. |
