I'm annoyed that he left without saying anything. He could have at least wrapped up some of the roleplays he was in.

Well, some of them went on after he left. In the Anime Roleplay, his character is kind of important to the plot. He can't just disappear.

I've heard of people like that. Sympathy junkies. There was one on Law and Order where the woman enjoyed the attention she got when she was pregnant so much, that when the baby was born and she was cast into obscurity once more, she killed her baby just for the sympathy. Four times she did this, including once with an adopted child. McCoy got her butt though... Mwahaha!
