I'll level with you: I'm not really a fan of KND fanfics. Though fanfiction gives writers the chance to mold a show to their choosing, what we've seen so far is an endless stream of 3/4 and 1/5 fanfics, Numbuh 2 being kicked to the side, and other things. I think it would be nice to see more Nigel/Lizzie stories, or maybe something concerning Abby and Cree's relationship. Which leads to another another reason on why I like Season 2 better: it develops the ideas that I like to see, while KND fanfics tend to stick to just a few ideas I'm not as interested in. I know it's no good to try and control 3/4 and 1/5 fans, and there's nothing I can say here that won't sound hypocritical: fact is, I follow canon depending on whether or not it suits my own ideas. But I do wish authors would give the ideas of Season 2 a chance. In some genres, fanfics are used to create a new twist when the show has gotten old. But in the KND genre, fanfics are used to continue old ideas while the show creates new twists. Yeah, there is quite a huge overload of Nigel/Abby and Wally/Kuki fics, and most aren't too good, IMO. But if you want to read fics other than those (and not give up on KND fics in general), then, uh, I kinda "found" some fics you might be interested in. One is Operation: M.I.N.D. - www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1214787 (MIND) The other is Operation: R.O.O.K.I.E., which takes place very shortly after M.I.N.D. - www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1370209 (ROOKIE) But gee, I just can NOT figure out who wrote these! Hee hee hee. ^_^ EDIT: BTW, NumbuhFourRocks, both your posts were pointless 'specially since they had NOTHING to do with the thread's subject... Please quit it. -_-

Hmmm... I wonder! But yeah, I agree, there are too many 1/5 3/4 fics out there... My new one doesn't include either of these! Heh. But all I seem to be good at is writing romance fics. What I WOULD like to see is more fics like episodes in the show. Sure, I wouldn't mind if it was more dangerous or funny, but fics just about getting two people together without a real plotline are gettin old. Well, I won't flame too much, cause I like to throw in some romance things in my fics. Uh, I'll just stop talking now... Btw, what does this entire page have to do with season two overall thoughts? Uh, i'll try to stick to the topic. Sorry. Edit: Just thought of something. I think I like Season two better, because you get a better sence of the KND organisation, and the characters develop a bit too. Sure, they don't really act like 10 year olds, but in season one they didn't exactly either. Plus, new characters for fics! (I don't think my new fic will be very popular because of this... heh. But Op. Fugitive was pretty much the basis of my fic.) Ya for season two!

Drat. I had a much longer reply, but an accident caused it all to be erased. So I'm gonna cut this short. In anwser to your question, try Numbuh 1 in Operartion: B.R.I.E.F.. He was acting as kooky as Kuki at the beginning, in his own Numhuh 1 way. (British people are funny ^_^) OTOH, he was displaying his workaholic tendancies. This is long-established Nigel behavior. Seems to me you're sensing hostilities where there are none. (Well, heck, that's the LEAST of what I've done in my stories...) But the thing is there is that you're overlooking one vital fact--my story is an accepted alternate universe (aka a fanfic). Warburton's is the canon, the bible from which all our KND fanfics originate. You can do basically whatever you want in a fanfic and it doesn't invalidate anything (short of mucking up your own little continuity). This means, basically, fanfiction can do pretty much anything. To be honest, I thought about using Cree and '86 in a future fanfic. Though I'm not sure how well my usage of them would go over with people. As for Lizzie, I was simply never a big fan of her character to begin with. Even now that she's been "improved" I still don't like her that much. But that's just me. I'll level with you: Neither am I. Heck... practically the only time I read them is when they're written by someone I know and/or I'm specifically asked to for evaluation purposes. Fortunately this means the stuff I get is usually pretty good. My own works top all of theirs, however. ^__^ (just kidding!) True. Then again as we've seen, not everyone has taken kindly to these twists. I find this perfectly acceptable, especially since I've been living through lame twists most of my life (*Cough* Chrono Cross*cough*). Though I admit it is true that someone can usually find parts of these twists that help their own fiction. And be glad this is the KND fandom. Some fandom's fanfiction is far worse. As I've stated, I used to be in the Rescue Rangers fandom, where the fanfiction was usually well-written, but was just frankly uninteresting--the entire group seemed obsessed with making sure everyone had a thoroughly depressing personality and lifestyle. There was only so much "Gadget gets abused and is emotionally tortured" I could sit through before I was tired of it. Most other fandoms are the same way--plotlines and characterizations are less and less like the show's they're supposed to based on and more and more like they pulled an archtype out of an episode of Days of Our Lives (Or a Final Fantasy game, take your pick). KND is lucky in that there's relatively little of this kind of fiction, mostly due to the fact that the cast is, as I mention, somewhat realistically-portrayed little kids, thus making those kinds of stories seem less credible. They still happen, unfortunately, but once more to a much lesser extent. ... Did you miss the part of that message where I said "Just Kidding"? See what I mean about detecting hostilities where there are none? ^__^

I of course still have a few rebuttals left to throw out at you, and I'm still sticking to my arguments. But I think I've been at this for long enough, since neither of us are going to bend, and maybe neither of us should. (whether Season II is more appealing is entirely up to opinion) I'll nod out with a basic agreement on some of your point: that FanFiction.Net is full of bad fanfics and that Chrono Cross will never be as cool as Chrono Trigger. ^_^ Note: I'm thinking of starting a Pro-Lizzie "campaign" on this message board. Should I expect opposition from you should I go through with it?

A Chrono Trigger fan! I was actually going to do an article about that for one of my pages, since there's several ironic things about that game, but right now I'll just be happy knowing I'm not the only gamer here. Dude, I'm not obsessed with bashing Lizzie. Go ahead and have your little campaign. Me, I'll just be trying to find out which Chrono Trigger character is Lizzie's closest parellel. And then I'll try to forget that Chrono Cross ever existed *looks around and sees his copy of Cross right in front of him.* Argh!

Not sure if you're joking not, but...I'd say Chrono Lizzie would be an amalgam of Marle's cheerfulness, Kino's slight single-mindedness, and maybe a touch of Dalton's eccentricity. Mostly, I would compare her to Kino: a somewhat-selfish character that is able to learn from his/her mistakes and become better and more worthy of his/her object of affection. C.A.K.E.D.-T.W.O.: Special Edition Numbuh 1: (bonks Lizzie on the head) " You know why I punish?" Lizzie: (pouting miserably) "Nigey no like Lizzie..." Numbuh 1: "Wrong! Nigel like Lizzie best!" This is, of course, refering to the Season II Lizzie. The one in L.I.Z.Z.I.E. is Queen Zeal. ^_^

I was just playing the Playstation remake of Chrono Trigger the other day, and it hit me Marle could almost be Kuki's parellel if she were less firmly hinged in reality. I mean... Just listen and watch her during the Millennial Fair segment of the game (particularly, right before the first time she gets sent back to 1000 A.D.) Now here's a challenge: since basically everyone can fly the Epoch, who'se Hoagie's parellel? To me it would come down to Lucca or Robo. Now find Chrono's KND Parellel ^__^.

Then what's the Mammon Machine? The Boyfriend Helmet, of course. Sure, they don't exactly do the same things, but who knows what the Yes Dear 3000 is really powered by. Maybe while Lizzie's using it to court Nigel, it's actually sucking up energy from an evil porcupine thousands of miles below the Earth's surface. And then finally, in Operation L.A.V.O.S., it bursts out of the ground and lays waste to the entire world! (Lavos Theme starts playing) ^_- I was just playing the Playstation remake of Chrono Trigger the other day, and it hit me Marle could almost be Kuki's parellel if she were less firmly hinged in reality. I mean... Just listen and watch her during the Millennial Fair segment of the game (particularly, right before the first time she gets sent back to 1000 A.D.) What should be even more interesting is what she says when she returns from 600 A.D.. After her horrific experience in non-existance, she says something like: "Wow, I've never had so much fun!" I know of people who practically despise Marle for that line. Lucca: (at the Arris Dome Info Center) "We have to find out where the Time Game is, Marle!" Marle: (typing away) "La la la la la...!" Lucca: "It's not coming up! What are you doing, Marle?" Marle: (typing away) "La la la la la...!" Lucca: (looks at computer screen) "'I Love Parties?!'" Crono: (makes wacky "surprised" expression)
Now here's a challenge: since basically everyone can fly the Epoch, who's Hoagie's parellel? To me it would come down to Lucca or Robo.
I suppose that's a decent analogy, but Hoagie's somewhat Melchoir-like too, what with hermitizing himself and creating cool things for the team to use. (don't hold your breath for the M.A.S.A.M.U.N.E., though ^_^) I've thought of saying that Hoagie might have a little Tata in him, but that's just an insult. (Numbuh 2's way cooler than that punk, not to mention actually competent) Edit: Can you believe that, with all the foreign accents in Codename: Kids Next Door, there's not a single character that even remotely resembles the awesomeness of Frog. It's be cool if Season 3 produced an operative with a Old English dialect, and an adult-wupping legendary blade. Now find Chrono's KND Parellel ^__^. Normally I'd choose Nigel, because of his leadership qualities, (and his tendency to freak out and make really crazy expressions) but he's too tempermental. As it stands, the only one cool enough to be Crono is Numbuh 274. Hey, he sas the psuedo-samurai armor, maybe he has a "Rainbow" tucked away somewhere. ^_^ Kuki: "Yay, I got new Rainboy Monkey Merchandice!" Wally: "Oh geez! Not more cruddy 'Rainbow Monkey' stuff!" Kuki: (pulls out shining katana) "It's the Rainbow Monkey Sword! It's Cuddle Monkey's bestest friend. and it has a 70% critical hit rate!" Wally: "Whoa...!" Yeah, THAT would get Wally interested in Kuki. ^_^ Man, this conversation's great for creativity. If this keeps up, I can get an entire KND/Chrono Trigger crossover out of it...

I honestly never thought of that. I thought she was talking about just enjoying the trip in general. I must admit I enjoyed it too ^__^. LOL! Not to mention he's not quite THAT dishonest or full of himself. I once thought about having a joke in a fanfic where Kuki turns out to be a fan of HP Lovecraft. I suppose this is equally bizarre. ... What, the Delightful Children team up with Lavos? Or Nigel decides to grow hair and it comes out all red and spikey? Wait... Kuki is after the Sun Stone! BTW, getting back on topic, would it be going too far if I made this analogy? KND Season One = Chrono Trigger KND Season Two = Chrono Cross Or perhaps, because Season Two is broken in two, you could claim that S2 as is equals Radical Dreamers and complete season two will equal Chrono Cross...

Sorry, but as you know, I like Season II, making it worthy of being compared to the stylish Trigger rather than the offbeat Cross. But I suppose the analogy would make sense according to your own feelings. I've already begun formulating a idea for a Trigger-inspired KND fanfic. Perhaps I'll post it on the Fanfiction board.
