first off, I'd respect you if you gave me some more respect, and wouldn't talk back to mods so much.

"So much"? I barely even talk to you, I don't talk back that much. In fact, when else have I talked back?

No, you said that I talked back a lot. Besides today, when else have I talked back?
(By the way, that's not talking back, it's a genuine question).

Well this is certainly turning out to be like a family. Mine. My uncles and aunts don't talk to each other anymore and they're suing the eldest sibling for hoarding all the family money. What a family indeed.
Look, I've just been here for a month and a half and I have no idea how this place was like before. NO. No idea. The peak during 2004 sounds wonderful. But I'm not going to sulk and go into nostalgic episodes like my sick aunt. We should learn from the past, not let it weigh us down.
I'm NOT going to sit here and say most newbies seem to be immature 14 year olds, NOR pick on every single word that the prior person said. All of us need to calm down. Instead of 'flaming' each other, or finding evidence that the other person is flaming, why don't we talk about how to make this place better?
My opinion on the forum. I've been here for a month and a half as I said, and I'm already getting to know a couple of people. There isn't a wide variety of stuff to talk about, so we talk about whatever we can. But I really feel like I'm making friends here. Despite the 3/4 banner below I'm not a huge shipper, so I rarely go to the Romance topics. Politics, and most importantly RELIGION is not something I'd like to dwell on when talking about KND. Period. And I have no idea about the new couple names. They've been here since I came so I thought it's 'traditional'. I suggest we go back to calling them 3/4 or 1/5 or whatever is universal. I've seen several seasons of the animated Pokemon and, I have to agree with Madame Hoagie's Gal, that there doesn't seem to be much storyline and they use the same kind of plot over and over. I've played the game and know a bit about it, but still I can't talk a lot about it so I know a bit how the 'older family' feel. However, I still understand perfectly why they want to talk about it crossing over with KND. Still, at this moment it IS a bit much. Oh and by the way, I also feel that the animated cartoon is very much a propaganda for the franchise. It's normal for kids to do that. I was like that. No matter what age you live in, there's going to be franchise propaganda or fads, and children are SUSCEPTIBLE to these things. But can you tell them not to watch cartoons which you know are franchise propaganda? You can't. One just have to teach children about having 'enough' and to work with what you have, with an occasional new stuff. I've been through card games fad, and my parents always limit me, in contrast to my friend whose parents don't control, and he still buys boxes after boxes of cards even now. Learning about the worth of money is always good.
........................ I once sat down and thought about what it'd be like for a person who lived in the middle ages and miraculously gain almost immortal life, and is now living in modern times. Would he stick to the doings of his age, or would he flow with time? I concluded that he would, for his own good, go with changes. That means going through the Imperial Age, Industrial Age, see the great rise of science and exploration. Fashion and music, and even lifestyle change with time. And now in the modern age, he now is accepting the rise of R&B and hip hop, or the awareness of healthy eating and living, among other more serious things. Also, he would've experienced the passing of many of his friends, who died of old age or other misfortunes and he's still the only one that stays alive. What I learned from this thought of mine, is that for our own good, we have to flow with time. That's one of the key of being forever young. I see many elderly people (my grandma included) who always complain about themselves being old or that new things scare them and they want nothing to do with it. They cling to the past.
We can't cling to what the forum used to be like and miss everyone who are the old family members. There are newborns in the family. They will sometimes act like babies, so as a responsible family member we have to honestly tell them that some behavior is not proper. Like the Immortal man in my thought, the old ones WILL leave eventually, for whatever reasons. This can depress someone greatly, but he has to move on. His mind will deteriorate if he sits down and think about the past people in his life, like his loving parents almost 900 years ago. He's going to start rejecting modern society, or anything new.
I think we need to communicate more in this forum. Something may not interest us, but with some explanation from the younger generations we may understand it more.

I disagree with you, Numbuh 18A. There is a major problem with the forum at the moment--it's marching towards an evolutionary dead end. Some of the less mature members, or some misguided ones, are creating an environment that is steering discussions towards things that have little/nothing to do with KND. It's polluting the forum. What's dangerous about it is that it's driving the more dedicated members away. And when the others lost interest and leave, the forum will become a wasteland.
This is supposed to be a forum about KND, but because so much Pokemon (among other things) is invading the forums that are meant to be about the KND, we're killing ourselves. What is sad is that most people don't realize it. This is not some kind of insidious plot against the forum--it's just people being people. And what are we supposed to do? Yell at everyone to shut up? They don't realize that what they're doing is bad for the forum. And they're not bad people. But the end result is what it is. I rarely say anything here anymore because I can't relate.
This is the reason why MHG left. It's also the reason why I lurk more than anything else. I wish I could change it, but I accept things as they are. It's not like I now like KND less because of the forum, but I do feel as though I don't have any outlet for my own thoughts.

Hmmm your argument have basis.
I think I'm very open to invasions of other stuff, simply because I don't know how it was like during the Golden Age. Shouldn't it be all of our responsibility as family members to warn the youngbloods that what they're doing is bad for the forum? And for the youngbloods to listen because they're a part of the family?
So your idea is the the forum is heading towards an evolutionary dead end and that everything other than KND is polluting the forum, what else do you suggest can be done?

No, you said that I talked back a lot. Besides today, when else have I talked back? (By the way, that's not talking back, it's a genuine question). It's not just me, some of the other mods have noticed your rudeness. And I agree with lord Malachite on the way the fourm feels. So many new members who just happen to be young, are really making this fourm crapier for the older members. I'm up for suggestions to improve the fourm.

That still doesn't tell me when I've talked back. If I do it so much, obviously I need to improve, but the only way I can do that is if I know I've actually done it a lot. And I don't think I have.

I'm also up for improving the forum. Suggestions? The floor's open.
p. s. PiP, yes, you DO have a problem with your attitude. Remember the post where you linked to the problems we had on the forum last year?
Sorry. I'm pretty sure I saw "WHATever" but forget it.
I have my own opinion. If you don't like it, then deal with it.
Yeah, because I enjoy getting flamed by you and getting chastized by others . Why are you trying to demonize me?
*shrugs* Ok, fine, I will. Whatever floats your boat. And this is the last time I'm gonna say it; I was just saying I though some mods were harsh on other people. Opinion. Mine. Ya don't have to like it.
Why are you shoving words down my throat? I don't remember EVER saying I don't like the rules. Also, chill out! No need for the screaming.
I'm not going to go back and look for every single post where you talked like this, but believe me, it's happened a lot.
You come off as rude, sarcastic, demanding, and a know-it-all. This isn't a flame. I've noticed it. So has Comsie. Surely others have.
Perhaps you could try and work on being a nicer person in general?

Looking from the situation it looks like first of all we have to look out for the stuff that is driving people away. Probably something that a few, some, or most of us can't relate to. We need some common ground to talk about. And that's KND. That probably means stricter rules on forum content.
Second, we're starting to lack things to talk about. I now bring up an idea from talking to Abbynigelfan, and I quote from her:
"oh we usually talk about what's our favorite episodes and remembering great stuff about the show and things that need improvement on. We managed to keep things going with fan projects and fics, too. We also talk about other things as well. That's how it still active."
It's......a bit vague..but I'm interested in the 'fan project' idea. What exactly IS a fan project? Is it collaborated? It'll be good if it is so.

A fan project is something that people do for a certain type of show and making models of things from the show like making a model of the treehouse or something like it. And it could be fanfiction, too. Yes it could be collaborated.

I have a 3-pronged idea for a collaborative fanfiction anthology, a fanart contest, and most importantly, an ongoing, episode-by-episode analysis of the series that some of us might really enjoy. More than just general discussion, I was thinking along the lines of a detailed analysis of each episode, how it relates to the KND mythos as a whole, character developments, plots that will carry over to later episodes, etc. Something that us "big kids" can really sink our teeth into.

I think what we need to Do is TRY to get the older members back. Mods since you guys can most likely see everyone's Email Addresses why not send them an Email asking them what happened to them?
I miss the old people I miss this place it NEEDS to get back to the way it was.
As for you Pip you do come off as rude and you shouldent talk to Comsie like that she is a mod and right now she is pretty much the only active one and it must be hard for her to do this all by herself so chill out and shut the hell up already you made your point and you said what you had to now let Comsie do her damn job! Ever since you got her Pip you did nothin but start shit with people! I've complained to MHG at LEAST 9 different times. You sit here and act like a little 10 year old brat! and you only act tough because your online I bet if you met Comsie in RL you wouldent say anything.
Comsie's edit: Just fixed the typo's of my name. Its a pet peeve.
So to Make it short stop the bitching! and let Cosmie do her job she does NOT have time for your games.
Anyways about the member problem I think we should see what happened to all of them who "Dissapeared"

I'm not going to get into another fight about this. I've only started shit two times, so it's pretty unfair how you're saying I do nothing but that.
Yeah, I know I'm not that nice all the time, but I know I'm not the only one.
