Not to bring up old drama or anything, but srsly, kids, this is a little out of hand.
Can we PLEASE have a "no cybersex" rule for this forum? This is a message board for a kid's show, rated TV-Y7. It is not a message board for horny teenagers to come and cyber their fancharacters and turn this board into something rated X.
I'm not saying you don't have a right to do that, you should never do that, but for the love of God, PLEASE take it somewhere private. No one wants to know that Soandso touched Soandso's thingy and smiled alil. Take it to a private IM or email, kthx.
And no, it's not something that is only in your private threads, because for one, it's NOT a private thread, it is on a very much PUBLIC forum on the internet. It also comes up three billion times a day if you check the "Most Recent Posts" link. And really, I don't want to see things like that.
For the love of all that's pure, PLEASE, moderators and admins and whoever, can we make a rule against this? Srsly.

For starters I personally agree with you. That's not really something I'd want on the forum.
However, speaking strictly as a mod, I'm not quite sure these people are in violation of any of our rules. I guess it could be labeled as pornography and thus be banned (the proboards TOS [Terms Of Service] forbids this) but that's streching the definition a tad.
I'm going to wait for the rest of the staff to read this and then hopefully reach some sort of consensus over it. Once we do have consensus we'll institute a new rule.
By the way -- if you have noted any egregious examples of inappropriate behavior -- something trully beyond the pale, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Not to bring up old drama or anything, but srsly, kids, this is a little out of hand. Like you said yourself; it's an old drama; you're the only one who starts complaining about it and brings it back for another discussion which was already over. Doesn't that sound alil selfish of you? You're the only one who seems to be bothered by it, that's no good reason to start it again and make people (you know who I'm talking about) upset. Can we PLEASE have a "no cybersex" rule for this forum? This is a message board for a kid's show, rated TV-Y7. It is not a message board for horny teenagers to come and cyber their fancharacters and turn this board into something rated X. The Proboard Rules don't say you have to be 13 years or older for nothing, you know. If you're younger and it still bothers you, that's your own risk and problem. I'm not saying you don't have a right to do that, you should never do that, but for the love of God, PLEASE take it somewhere private. No one wants to know that Soandso touched Soandso's thingy and smiled alil. Take it to a private IM or email, kthx. The reason we're playing that here is because of the characters we use. Those characters are KND characters and their personality fits for those RPs, that's just the way it is. So THAT'S the reason we play those RPs here, and not somewhere else. It's more fun to play it here with KND characters since this is a KND forum. And no, it's not something that is only in your private threads, because for one, it's NOT a private thread, it is on a very much PUBLIC forum on the internet. It also comes up three billion times a day if you check the "Most Recent Posts" link. And really, I don't want to see things like that. Once again, like you said yourself: IF you check the most recent posts. Apparantly you seem to do that, but that doesn't mean everyone else does it. Besides, what you said is not true. You know it doesn't come up that much, not even close. You're overreacting and talking about something of which you know yourself it's not true, you only want it to be. Again I'm pointing at the fact you're acting selfish. Learn to think of others and remember you're not the only one here, plus that everyone has a different opinion.

Werd.
Numbuh 0xFF seems to agree with me, so apparently it's not just me that it bothers. Just because I'm the first to voice my opinion about it doesn't mean that I'm the only one it bothers.
Also, how am I being selfish? I'm thinking of others here when I ask for a rule change because maybe there are others out there that are sick of all the cybering. And yes, it does come up quite a bit, otherwise I don't see why you'd become so defensive.
I think it actually displays the roleplayers themselves as selfish, assuming that others want to read things that really should be written in a private matter. You don't see me and my friends up in here roleplaying sex because we have the decency to do such things in private. This may be a KND forum, and your characters may have been inspired by the show, but that doesn't necessarily equal cybersex being okay.
You also forget the children under 13 that have asked their parents if it is okay that they be on the forum, the young children that don't join but read the forum, and the siblings and children of those members that are on the forum. Just because you have to be 13 to join the forum does not by any means mean that you must be 13 to read the forum.
I would wait to hear the opinions of others (and not just from the fellow roleplayers but other members of the forum) before telling me that I am the only one bothered by this and calling me selfish.

But since you have to be 13 for joining the forum, I think it should be an good idea that you're 13 for reading too.

I'm not for cybersex, but I think I have a solution. I think that if you JOIN the forum, you MUST be 13 for something, and there are three alternatives. One. Make an X-rated board. Two. Post a rating in the roleplay's title. Three. Hide the roleplay boards from guests. I think one might work but there are too few of these. Two would just attract people. I'm for the third solution. I mean, if you join before 13, you should know what you expose yourself to.

I mean, if you join before 13, you should know what you expose yourself to. Despite the fact that this is a forum for a children's show? I still think such roleplaying should be off the forum altogether. Perhaps if you hid the (and I use this term VERY loosely) "mature" roleplays from all EXCEPT those that can actually want to see it, that would be a better solution, because members wouldn't have to see "# licked #'s tongue alil" at ALL, and the horny teenagers roleplayers could run wild and free in their cybersex land without hearing complaints from others. Though why they can't set up their own personal message board or RP via IM or email is beyond me.

to say my opinion, I think that roleplays should be a hidden fourm. Plus also note, most people rp as there own character,Meaning in roleplays most characters are older than KND age. If your arguering because you saw a bit of Yoni's n beckies roleplays, then for the love of viviane leave it. Everyone knows that there roleplays are theres. No one enters them(for the sake of there eyes)

Eh.. I agree about the 13 thing. When you join a forum for 13+, you should know that that rule was put there for a reason. And again, nobody MAKES you read something; If you click on a rp and it turns out to have that kind of stuff in it and you don't like it.. then use your ability to click a mouse and leave the thread. K? Well that's what I think. It's called common sence

Look, it's not just a matter of age. It's a matter of basic decency. What you do in private comunication is between you and the Gods Of Bad Taste but when you post something on a open-to-public website for all the 'net to see it is considered prudent to practice some self-censure. At the very least inform readers of a 'rating' (not that that helps much, you understand, but at least people can't claim they've been taken by surprise) of the stuff you are writing.
The age issue just compounds the problem. While the rules do say you have to be over 13 to join this leaves out the following problems:
a) Many people here are younger than 13. I know it, you know it. This is a forum for a KID'S SHOW, for crying out loud. Some consideration for our members of tender years would be nice. Selfless, so to speak.
b) Even if you do in fact have 13 years that doesn't mean you are ready for everything and anything the internet can throw at you. As I recall PG-13 raitings mean the content is pretty tame.
c) Some people can find ther aesthetic and/or moral sensibilities offended by cybersex[1]. I'm not saying cybersex is 'bad' or 'wrong' just that one must understand that a lot of people have different, conflicting senses of morality and that a modicum of effort must be made to appease those groups. Nothing drastic, you understand, just some goodwill.
Considering all this I see we have a rather taxing problem. I propose the following
a) Stop with the cybersex. Obviously this solution will leave a lot of people unhappy but it is an option. Now I myself am quite opposed to censorship and would dislike such a solution immensly.
b) Restrict the cybersex to private messages. Again a problematic solution as it seems a lot of people have their hearts set on keeping their threads.
c) Go for a tech-fix. Make a board only accesible by the mods (for policing purposes) and a certain user-group[2] composed of those users expressing a desire to view and post X-rated material. Access to said group would be available on request to a mod via PM.
d) Ignore the problem and/or hope the Ethics Elves[3] fix it using magic. This solution, too, would displease a group of users which is, of course, bad.
Thoughts?
[1] And here I feel a need to tell an offtopic joke. They make a poll in a campus of a large university about cybersex. So they find a student for an MBA and they ask her "What do you think of cybersex?" and she answers "What kind of sex?". Next they interview a computer science student and ask him the same question. He answers "Cyber-what?". ;D Sorry...couldn't help myself.
[2] As I recall proboards software supports user groups.
[3] A subgroup of helpful fey (such as the Shoemaker's elves) they will solve knotty ethics problems overnight if a bowl of milk is left out.
